I really hope so - Countdown and O.U are 2 of my favorite pulp songs. Can't imagine why they would bother rehearsing them just to play it once (so fingers crossed)
Does anyone know if there is a video of OU somewhere? I could not see it on youtube:(
Sadly not. All the HD footage comes from the user BIKINIENVIDEO, which I am guessing is the YouTube channel of the venue. Perhaps if enough of us post messages to the user then they will post some more. They surely must have the whole show...?
Bloody hell! That violin! That stylophone! And then they're duelling. Wow!!
Also, the version of Pencil Skirt is above and beyond what one would expect. Really hope these two get played at Brixton...
Indeed, I can't believe how good it sounded - really is one of the best live Pulp tracks I've heard. It was the (I'm no musician, so can't guarantee the accuracy of what I'm saying here) Pulpy Guitar repetition of the main 'fanfare' of the intro that did it for me - the type of guitar used for the remix of common people... distant and echoey, it's a stunning Pulpy sound, and so dashed evocative!
^ I completely agree! the live tracks from that concert were above & beyond killer IMHO; really felt like they were enjoying themselves playing up again & transmuting it to the audience (who loved it/them just as much). also LOVED the Toulouse renditions of I Spy & Countdown: the French shows seem to by & far (& historically: wouldn't be a surprise) blow the others away in the familiarity, chattiness, ease/experimentation with the audience thus far - or perhaps I'm biased ;)
I was exhilarated just hearing Countdown @ Toulouse - would NEVER have expected it though I know he explained the significance of the date - I just love the song! So much emotion there. Likewise I Spy, and Pink Glove (despite a slight mishap in the latter, the passion/vitality/all-enveloping circumambient sound produced by Jarvis's emotion & the band made it one of my fave renditions ever! disclaimer, I'm not a musician by any means - never even properly learned piano) Hearing my other favorite His N Hers was icing on the cake.
