Ticketweb is risky, it's just ticketmaster but with a different lay out and some smaller shows on sale. Ticketweb goes just as slow cause its all run through the same servers or whatever. Also, if you try and ring ticketweb, they only have about 7 people on the phones. Ticketmaster, what a dreadful job that was.
Just remembered my mum has an O2 simcard. Sadly when I checked there was no tickets available. Guess I'll have to check back on Friday then (sigh). Well at least I'm registered for O2 priority.
Where did news of this fabled "second date" come from, by the way? Was it a listing that appeared on one of the ticketing websites by mistake and then was taken down, or has there been some kind of announcement (official or unofficial)?
It was on Seetickets for a while Leo then disappeared.
Did it appear in addition to the 31st August date? If not, I was just wondering if it was a mistake and somebody inititally got the date wrong at the ticket centre when publishing the listing?
Sounds like the second show most probably will happen (would be very surprised if they only did the one night)...but I always like to consider every possibility to avoid disappointment! ;)

I've now got seated tickets but suely that gives a pretty naff gig experience. I'll have to try and get some standing ones somehow.
If the seats are reserved it is better. At the Theatre Royal (long long ago), I was in the middle in the eighth row in the stalls and it was pretty good! But at Brixton/Shepherd's Bush, I either get there early or just stand at the balcony at the back. It's too far back at Brixton though.
I have standing and may want to swap for seats if my wife comes along, but that's normally the easier swap to do.

It's not bad now and again. It's a different experience, but it's nice to be able to just sit and really listen to the band playing. Think I will try and get standing for the 1st so that I can also have a "jump around" night. ;)

Brixton is a bit strict as well with the seating, often getting people to sit down. Lots of other venues like Forum and Coronet where I have ended up upstairs are more relaxed about standing. And then you get the best of both worlds.
Sounds just like a football match with people wanting to stand and being told to sit down for safety reasons. Oh well, I guess I'll be the one divebombing from the balcony during DYRTFT...
I did actually sit and watch Jarvis and Tim a few years ago at the Manchester college of music, and that was great, but it was an acoustic set and everyone was sitting.
If anyone has one standing ticket they will swap for two seated ones PM me.

I shouldn't really encourage people on a message board (as it could be an H+S risk) but if you have upstairs tickets and you have a couple of friends with downstairs tickets get one of them to bring the other's ticket out for you to get back in downstairs. Lots do it. That's why it can get so crowded downstairs when there's a band on that loads of people want to be downstairs for. No idea why they haven't plugged the loophole after all these years.

At some venues they stop this by sending you in through another door. Forum and Coronet do this, which is a pain if you have seats and friends stand. Not been to Brixton for a few years (Libertines 2004, was quite eventful! http://www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=20449&spid=22455) but they never used to stop it.
Woo-oo, managed to get tickets eventually too. I hope that this time I will have the opportunity to meet some of you as I could not at Wireless. Now I just need to figure out how to afford my plane ticket to London !
Logged in just before 9 to the O2 website, and then at exactly 9 they went on sale. Managed to get 2 standing tickets for me and my girlfriend. Will be awesome, and can't wait! Always prefer smaller venues like this (compared to the O2 or festivals), as you really feel part of it.
Thanks for the link to the priority thing. Have no idea why I didn't think about it. Guess it's because I still think of it as the Carling Academy Brixton.
Didn't get one, fuck. My alarm didn't work. & now they're gone. & I'm away all weekend, so can't get one on Friday. Guess I'm putting money in the tout's pocket this time. :(
My missus got her ticket for 31st August this morning but sadly I'm working that day and there's no way I can get it off, so 1st September is my only hope...

I suspect the second date (which is still not official) won't go on sale until next week, so you won't have to pay the tout. For wireless, I got ticket cheaper than face off seatwave, and who knows they may be selling on there at close to face value, and there are often £5/£10 off vouchers out there.
