Does anybody know what Jarvis is singing at the end of the single version of Countdown? I've listened to it countless times and I still can't work it out. The official lyrics for this version have never been published as far as I know.
This is what is currently on PulpWiki, but it doesn't seem quite right:
I'm not gonna hang around, no Oh
Time and fire and (?) never ever laugh Leaves and stars and moon are falling down
Weren't the 'official' lyrics to the Separations album printed in the Disco-Very 2 fanzine? Not sure where my copy is at the moment, otherwise I would check.
Indeed, the lyrics to the Separations album do appear in Disco-Very 2. The words on the single version of Countdown are a bit different through, particuarly the final bit.
I've never been sure how official those lyrics are - obviously they're pretty accurate but maybe Mark transcribed them himself for the zine rather than Jarvis providing them?
For what it's worth, I've always heard the "God will never ever laugh" bit as "Go up and never ever ever land".

I always thought it was "Fly and fly and fly and never, ever land," neatly encapsulating Jarvis' fears of trying and trying to get the band somewhere and never succeeding.
i too heard something different which never really made sense - maybe it was purposely ambiguous so you could fit your own interpretation into the song (probably not though)

I also believe those to be the lyrics, but that's not my guess at their meaning!
