if your not going and don't already Know, the whole festival is being televised on sky arts 1 : this website http://www.tv14.net/sky-arts-1/ seems good for free streaming
I'm "blanking" all coverage now! I already know too much! Really really looking forward to seeing my favourite band live again! I still may cry! and laugh! It has to be special!
It was better than ITV's coverage but was still poor. Only 15-20 mins of headliners last night, everyone else one or two sings, way too many interviews
Anybody who doesn't get Sky desperate to see the footage? If so, I can try and take a recording off my tv screen (that's the best I can do I'm afraid). Have an iPhone 4 so the quality is pretty good.
Similar stage set-up and pre-show tease as at Primavera by the sounds of things. From the Festival's facebook update: ''After a LONG video screen message to tease the crowd, Pulp are now destroying the Main Stage. Recently reformed and kicking off their set with Do You Remember The First Time. Beautiful.''
So they look set to rip it up again :). Will be interesting to see the reactions of youngsters/those who've never heard Pulp after their performances at these festivals.
Nope...doesn't look like Sky Arts are going to be doing us many favours in terms of coverage. Looks like we will be scouring YouTube for audience footage once more!
What a load of horlicks...This Is Hardcore may have been the encore if the pic on the site's FB status is owt to go by (backdrop of rotating girls from the TIH video accompanies the encore mention).
I guess after using Pulp's name in all the previews to their Isle of White coverage, and this being the bands first UK appearance in over eight years, showing footage of just one song was far too much to ask of Sky.
Yeah, it is strange to mention them and then broadcast nothing.
I reckon liltman might be right that they've refused to allow TV/radio coverage for some reason. Nothing on Absolute Radio either. Neither did I find any evidence of any coverage from Primavera.
Some artists do it, but they don't always do it for the same reason. Blur refused the BBC showing their whole Glasto set, I think to keep the Hyde Park gigs special. Leonard Cohen refused because he was bankrupt and wanted the footage for a DVD (I think). Dylan refuses because he's Dylan
It was strange coverage all round though, they didn't show many Foo Fighter's songs either. Perhaps I should fire off an e-mail complaint to Sky and see if they can shed any further light on the matter?
It looks like dropped from the Primavera set were Pencil Skirt, Bar Italia and Razzmatazz.

Pulp made their UK live comeback tonight (June 11) at the Isle Of Wight Festival, playing a triumphant set before headliners Foo Fighters on the Main Stage of the event.
Jarvis Cocker and co, who played the Primavera Sound festival in Spain earlier this month for their first big-scale comeback gig, brought out hits including 'Disco 2000' and 'Common People' with the singer noting how long they'd been away from the live scene.
He joked that the band had last played in the UK on "11 June 1981" when in fact their last UK gig was in 2002. "But we're better now," he added. "And there are more people here." Later he showed off his knowledge of the Isle Of Wight, referring to the locals as "caulkheads" a term meaning a native of the island. Cocker also delved into his memory to recall his first visit to the island, telling the audience: "I went to [family attraction] Blackgang Chine as a child and now I return as a man, or sorts."
It wasn't all cosy memories though the frontman danced seductively throughout the show and peeled off his jacket and tie, stripper style, while stood on a platform. He later sarcastically explained of set-closer 'Common People': "I hear this was the first dance at the Royal Wedding a couple of months ago."
With their first comeback gigs under their belts the Britpop veterans are now set for a summer packed with more shows. In the UK they will headline Wireless in London on July 3, T In The Park in Scotland on July 10 and the Reading And Leeds Festivals on August 27 and 28.

Might have been nice to tell us there would be no Pulp as wouldn't have built up our hopes

agreed! they shouldn't have bothered having pulp written in their advert if they knew they wouldn't have footage because it clearly gave the wrong impression (presumably they knew beforehand)
This set list is a little disheartening. I was so excited after I heard about the France show, but so far the festival shows have been back to the old formula.
My Wireless Sunday ticket just says "Pulp + Special Guests". Lets hope that means Pulp treat it as their own show and give us something special rather than a typical festival performance. The rest of the day's line-up is crap so the audience will be expecting a good performance from Pulp.

Very tempted to just head over to Hyde Park on the the night and wait until the last minute to get a ticket off a tout. Can't imagine too many people been that interested by teh line up.

Actually I'm pretty excited about Grace Jones. I think her 2008 album Hurricane is really excellent. Providing, of course, she turns up on time... And my 14-yr old son really rates Yuck.

Hey all, just back from Isle of Wight, totally knackered!!! Rain all day yesterday, so that was pretty tiring, and then having to get out of site this morning in the mud.
Pulp day Sat, was perfect, the sun was shining, people were happy... I was working all day and got off just in time to go see Seasick Steve and Iggy Pop who were playing before Pulp, Jarvis was at the side of the stage watching Iggy, I saw him walking around backstage, he looked pretty chilled, I had a production pass so was on stage to see Iggy and others, but Pulp didn't allow anyone to watch them from the stage, which wasn;t a bad thing, cause the production was very impressive and of course they didn't want it ruined by Saidr Frost and people who were there in a hen do and who weren't allowed on stage to see Pulp, hehehe... So I headed to the crowd and managed to squeeze myself to the front, I was about 5 meters from the barrier and the show started, It was a truly magical moment, as you guys said about Primavera, First time went down well, then Pink Glove and people around me weren't even singing it, so got really fed up and squeezed in to were there were some other pulp brothers and sisters singing so made friends and had a great time, it really pissed me off that a lot of people at the front weren't pulp fans and were just waiting for the foos taking precious space.
The band was in top form and Jarv looked amazing in his velvet suit, came down to the audience to give us some sweets, and all in all it was like a dream to me and it was over way too quick. Highlight for me was prob I spy, but def looking fwd to wireless to see if they do other less predictable songs.

In fairness they weren't headlining and only had an hour. These types of shows (along with T In The Park, Reading) are always likely to be hits-dominated. A great many of those audiences will only have heard of Common People and Disco 2000 at best. They're only foolish teens, they'll learn in time.
Though sticking with the hits formula it would be nice for Misshapes to get an airing and one of Party Hard/Help The Aged. The former to keep up the pace, the latter cos it would be recognised by many. Neither seem to be on the summer setlist though.
Wireless and Leeds exlcluded you're probably better off seeing Pulp abroad this summer as they'll invariably headline and therefore have an extra half-hour or so. Also more likely to be creative with their sets on foreign shores (Razzmatazz at Barcelona, most of the set in Toulouse - though I suppose that was more a dress rehearsal for everything).
The Wireless organisers must have been pissed-off that they lost their Pulp exclusivity almost immediately back in November when the reunion was announced. IoW was added about two days later I recall. If Hyde Park was their only UK appearance tickets would no doubt be shifting a lot quicker. I'm broke but tempted to fly to London and get a cheap ticket for Wireless.

It would have all been known before hand. Wireless would definitely have been under no illusion that their Pulp show would be exclusive.

The tickets for Hyde Park would shift quicker if the line up was better or the tickets were cheaper. As much as I want to see Pulp, I don't really want to watch any of the other acts (especially Grace Jones). I'll take my chances on the day, the later it gets the cheaper the ticket.
I am still hoping that Pulp do some post-festival gigs during the winter, I suspect they won't announce them until September though.

To be honest I'm thrilled about the lackluster support at Wireless. The show won't be as crowded, and virtually everyone will be there to see Pulp. At least there won't be any Foo Fighters fans to ruin the mood.
I anticipate a friendly crowd. Pulp have long since shrugged off their punter fans, and Grace Jones is wonderfully emasculating.

I actually think theres some bands worth watching in Hyde Park - The Horrors have been a revelation except for their embarassing debut - last album was excellent and new single is very good. Yuck are a bunch of Londoners who probably owe a fair amount to Pavement and Dinosaur Jr, but whom I really like, and TV on the Radio are very good too. But we dont know whos playing where and at what time...
