Cooking myself an early dinner now, as I am sure that I will only eat crap later on, and then I will be on my way.

I haven't even left Cardiff yet! My days of fighting my way to the front are long behind me, I fear.

(FACE IT - YOU ARE OLD)

Have a great time, everyone.

Stopped off for a pint in The Mitre pub near Paddington for a pre-show drink. Hope to see some forum folk tonight. I'm the 6'5" large chap in the white shirt (like that description helps :P)

So...how was it then?! I feel a bit sad thinking of all the bar italia members having a mass orgy in a big park in London. Or something.

Brilliant show!!!

To the aftershow group: I hung around Bar Italia for 20 minutes but didn't see anyone. Either I was too late or too early? Anyway, nice to meet you and have a beautiful night.

No problem. We're dead tired anyway. Being crushed by a 60,000 strong mob for 2 hours takes a lot out of you.

Wouldn't trade it for anything though.

Two hour show then? Nice...an encore not really required.

It was brilliant! I really regret not pushing further forward. I was surrounded by pissed up people taking pictures of each other in front of the stage. I was chuffed that they played Pink Glove (hope it got a good reception down the front). I also enjoyed I Spy. It was my first Pulp gig as a married woman and my sister got to see Pulp for the first time. The best bit was seeing Russell on the screen. It really brought it home what has happened.

Great! I was about 5 rows from the front in the middle. Particularly enjoyed I-spy and TIH but didn't like the pushing and shoving at the beginning at all but managed to hold on. Great to meet Sarah and I think I spotted some others nearby.

Like Poland the other night then.
Could you tell they wanted to play for longer? Bloody curfews..
How was Russell's violin for Mile End?
Some clips already on youtube. Dedicating Babies to his mum and son (and then everyone) was quite amusing.
There seemed to be quite a few gaps at the back, I know it didn't sell-out but any word on the attendance?

Wow! Amazing, fantastic! Got about 2 or 3 rows from the front and the crushing and sweating was worth every bit of it. GREAT to meet some of you from here. Had 2 sugars in Bar Italia because I couldn't go home and go to bed because it hadn't worn off yet. Now on my way home going past people as they go to work but fading fast....

A few reflections in the bleary light of day:

-The setlist was a little too heavy on Different Class, almost the entire album got played (exceptions being Pencil Skirt, Live Bed Show and Monday Morning). Not a bad thing but I would have gladly traded a few DC songs for some more earlier material.

-Jarvis set the theme for the night early on. I am paraphrasing and reading into his words a little bit, but basically he said the night would be a celebration of London's influence on the band, hence the DC-heavy setlist.

- Mile End was played early in the set, and melted away my reservations.

-Being at the very front was a harrowing and thrilling experience. I had to help security guards lift several people over the fence. A word of advice: if you don't have the constitution to handle thousands of people smashing together, you probably shouldn't stand anywhere near the front.

-Russell didn't seem to be doing much. The violin only came out for Common People. Well, actually, he might have been playing the violin on Pink Glove but I didn't get a good look. Still, it was nice to have him along.

-Grace Jones was great fun, as were 'The Hives'. It's a shame 'TV of The Radio' had to go muck things up.

Ultimately, it was a great show but would have been even better with some more Intro and HnH era songs. Perhaps Brixton Academy then?

Not sure it was quite the full two hours (probably 90 mins).  Was pretty near front just to stage right of catwalk somewhere between the P and the U, maybe about 10- 15 feet away from Jarvis when he came down with the torch for I spy.

Superb show, but one teeny critcism is that it was Different Class with a very select set of other songs.   Would have been good to have stuck in Razzmatazz or something from Separation to save Russell walking off, but well worth standing though Grace Jones for (wtf was she booked?).

The best thing was seeing the whole band there.  Was never right seeing Jarvis solo, nor in the latter days sans Russell.

Was pretty rammed towards the front though not as bad as I expected.  Probably would be a few gaps as it's a really big area.  Tickets were on sale on the day, but it was busy getting in (only just made it for The Horrors).  I don't think it was too much under capacity.

The grandstand was very distant. Good! Nice to go to a gig without a golden circle.
