I just don't understand the point of a secret Pulp performance at Glastonbury. What is the benefit to the band? They aren't promoting an album and they already have a packed schedule. What is the benefit to Glasto? Tickets are already sold out.
Because it makes them look good that they can get great acts to play on the sly. They had half of Radiohead last year playing secretly. I'd like to think Pulp would do it because it has a special place in their hearts.

Well I'm losing it every day at the moment! The fact they wouldn't allow any footage filmed at IOW makes me think they're just in it for the money. Oh well
The Saturday slot at the Park looks to be the one, if it does happen. Or the Friday. I wish the person who said they could find out last week would say something either way!
Okay...apparently my source in fact does not have a clue and are merely playing with my curiosity!!! Think they have been getting tired of my bugging them for info. Sorry guys. In light of the line-up info though, those special guest slots seem pretty telling to me...especially as Jarvis isn't doing his Sunday Service (unless he just wants it off to attend the festival??).
The Saturday special guest slot is listed as having zero time between Tama Impala and themselves, which would seem to make Pulp a bit less likely since they'd have a stage setup :( Might make a low key acoustic set more likely, or possibly a Jay Z MC set. Still nothing to say they wont play the Friday.
He did a talk at Meltdown last night. He was asked about Pulp and Radiohead and said he wasn't allowed to say. In Glastonbury terms, this means "they're playing but we can't say". For Pulp he said he'd get into trouble with Emily, which means they're at the Park!
