This is just brilliant Ian, thanks so much. Quality is ok for me, it may be a touch quiet but there's no loud crowd noise. This is a really fascinating glimpse into WLL. Hearing these songs is such a treat.

Fair enough, but again - where is the evidence that a Manchester lunchtime set ever happened?

Edit: I have emailed Picadilly Records, long shot but you never know!

In Pulp People newsletter 10, it says:
'During the tours we made a few in-store appearances playing short sets of "acoustic" versions of songs'.

This refers to the His 'n' Hers UK and French tours. It doesn't prove the Manchester date took place, but it at least indicates the Sheffield date wasn't a one off.

There was also an acoustic show in FNAC record store in Nancy, France on 17th May 94 (of which a recording exists).

I've heard nothing from Picadilly Records and I suspect I won't... slackers!

Never mind anyway - you guys have been compiling this information for longer than I have, so I'm happy to go with what you think is best.

Just to let you know, as I haven't seen this posted here, on Dimeadozen Pulp Live at Leeds 2011 has been uploaded in FLAC

Still no sign of Pulp @ Brixton on 31st August 2011??

Regards,

Neve's Brother

Thanks for linking this! It's quite good quality although a bit 'swooshy on the higher frequencies'.

Still no 31st August Brixton though no :(

To be fair, Picadilly have probably had a 100% staff turnover in the past 17 years, so there may not be anyone still around who remembers.

I know, I did actually say that in my email.

It was a joke :)

Sorry it so long to reply, been having major internet outages furious

You're welcome.  I admit, it may not be soundboard quality, but at least it is a 'listenable' copy.  And after all, something is better than nothing!! smile

Maybe the August Brixton show will surface in the future.  Could well be in 2021. biggrin

Regards,

Absolutely, it's more than listenable and I'm very grateful to the recorder.

I liked the part where Jarvis's guitar string breaks during Babies and he stops and restarts the song :D

Common peeps, has anyone come across a recording of the first night at Brixton yet? I know there have been various requests all over the board, but at a glance to no avail. Great to see a link to Wireless on a Russian site - it raises my hopes...

Unfortunately Superchob, it hasn't materialised as of yet.  But:

I know it's going to happen
It might not be today
It might not be tomorrow
or even the day after
But some time soon

You'll know if I find anything. It's been really bugging me. I have found a lovely Sisters EP advert and a review. Oh god I've found lots of stuff just not what I'm actually looking for. My wife thinks I'm mad to have kept all this stuff. I'm a terrible hoarder she says, although I would counter that I am simply a collector.

Having listened to this recently, It appears that the Pulp Wiki set list for this gig is wrong - I have updated to suit.

Here's the two lists.. shame Pulpwiki doesn't let you link to a historical version, as that would have saved me 5 mins! :)

Errors:

  • no Weeds
  • Bad Cover Version, Birds in Your Garden & Live Bed Show were in the wrong order

I'm pretty sure my update is the right order (you can hear the start of the next song at the end of each track) and it's the right gig because Jarvis has some banter with the crowd about Robin Hood (he's from Sheffield you know) and they play Little Girl.

Original:

  • The Trees
  • Sorted For E's & Wizz
  • The Birds in Your Garden
  • Live Bed Show
  • Bad Cover Version
  • F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.
  • Help the Aged
  • This is Hardcore
  • I Love Life
  • Sunrise
  • Little Girl (With Blue Eyes)
  • Joyriders
  • Babies
  • Something Changed
  • Common People

Fixed:

  • The Trees
  • Sorted For E's & Wizz
  • Weeds
  • Bad Cover Version
  • The Birds in Your Garden
  • Live Bed Show
  • F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.
  • Help the Aged
  • This is Hardcore
  • I Love Life
  • Sunrise
  • Little Girl (With Blue Eyes)
  • Joyriders
  • Babies
  • Something Changed
  • Common People

This mistake has probably occurred as the tracklisting on the back of the actual bootleg CD is incorrect. (just in case you were wondering)

Any chance of having Leeds put into somewhere not in Dimedozen? Also still looking for the 31st Brixton and the San Francsico/Ponoma shows from last week but obviously they haven't turned up yet.
