Interesting...they'll go before The Strokes just like in '02 then. At least they'll (apparently) headline the Leeds part. No Glasto then, it looks like. Bit of a surprise.
Because I tend to play my music in Reading itself & it's my main 'going out' town, I always have friends trying to get me to go to the festival & I always say "one year, when there's some bands I want to see!" Last time I went was 2003 when Blur & Metallica played (varied tastes, me...). Blur were a little dissapointing sans-Graham & I missed Metallica because I fell in the river...In 2002 we only had day tickets tho', 'cos we only really wanted to see Pulp & The White Stripes. But it was cheaper back then!
So I'm going for the whole weekend, not just 'splashing out' on Pulp. Also looking forward to Seasick Steve, Muse, Tim Minchin, Madness (at last! wanted to see them since I was a kid!) The Offspring & Jane's Addiction among others. But of course Pulp are the main attraction for me.
Oh, & I'm sure there'll be a tour in the winter!

There's another interview with Benn on eFestivals in which he is asked about exclusive acts on the line-up and Pulp are a "north of England exclusive" so Glasto is still in the picture
