Your Best Of in 2010?

Hey PULPpeople - This is not an original idea (I got it from another music group I follow) and I don't know if it's ever been tried here before, but it often raises some discussion as well as giving an insight into other members' non-PULP interests. How about providing the list with answers to some or all of the following questions:

1. PULP album most listened to in 2010?
2. Best concert you attended in 2010?
3. Best new (to you) artist/band discovered in 2010?
4. Favourite song heard for the first time in 2010?
5. Favourite new non-PULP album discovered in 2010?
6. Favourite book read in 2010?
7. Favourite film seen in 2010?
8. Favourite TV program watched in 2010?
9. Favourite catchphrase or motto in 2010?
10. Favourite PULP song of all time?

I'll be interested to see your responses - they might give me some ideas too!!

2. Paul Heaton at a small theatre down the road from me. Or The Divine Comedy in Madrid

3. Girls

4. Hmm...couldn't get enough of Alejandro by The Gaga I have to say. I like the idea of Janelle Monae but that Tightrope song got on my tits. OTT warbling, plenty of slick word play but fuck-all melody.

5. MGMT - Congratulations

6. Adrian Mole - The Prostate Years

7. The Hurt Locker or Inception

8. Our Friends In The North (too young to see it when it was on tv...but what a fucking series)

9. ''Any life when viewed from the inside is simply a series of defeats''. Well either that or ''Fancy a shag?''

10. Summat Changed

1. PULP album most listened to in 2010? - does Further Complications count? Otherwise, see Eammon's comment - the albums themselves haven't been coming out that much lately.

2. Best concert you attended in 2010? Ultrasound in Leeds was pretty good.

3. Best new (to you) artist/band discovered in 2010? Post War Glamour Girls - see www.myspace.com/postwarglamourgirls

4. Favourite song heard for the first time in 2010? Aaarrrggh, this is hard. Despite best intentions I get worse at finding new music with every passing year. Maybe 'A Music Lesson' by Groom.

5. Favourite new non-PULP album discovered in 2010? Eerrrr pass!

6. Favourite book read in 2010? 'The Year of Living Biblically' by AJ Jacobs

7. Favourite film seen in 2010? Another Year

8. Favourite TV program watched in 2010? The Inbetweeners maybe?

9. Favourite catchphrase or motto in 2010? Keep up the good work.

10. Favourite PULP song of all time? Pass!

1. PULP album most listened to in 2010?
JayPicks
If my Pulp folder is opened, that's the folder that gets dragged to Winamp, because that's the good ones.
Includes a bit of everything, even Relaxed Muscle, and a few "People who are in some way related to the love of Pulp", like "Losing It" Gotta love that track!

2. Best concert you attended in 2010?
I did naff all, all year!
No movies, no concerts.
To be fair, there was naff all to see, so it wasn't really my fault.

My sister's husband and his bandmates played a "gig" at their wedding, so I suppose that counts as the only concert I attended during 2010.
..
But even then I wouldn't like to say it was the best concert I attended during 2010.

3. Best new (to you) artist/band discovered in 2010?
Take That (!)
Got my mum the Circus-Live album for Xmas 2009, and.. honestly, that's probably one of very few recent albums that I can happily listen to, end to end, without it having any dodgy tracks.
.. I wouldn't recommend anything else, though. Don't think I'm "one of those"!

4. Favourite song heard for the first time in 2010?
Gotta be Cee-Lo Green's F'You.
It's a really good song!

5. Favourite new non-PULP album discovered in 2010?
Wouldn't that be the same question as number 3?
Oh, no, wait.. number 3 was Artist, this is Album.

hmmm..
*shrugs* Like I said, naff all good music anymore.

6. Favourite book read in 2010?
Life Of Pi
Recommended AGES ago, and I'd been hunting for ages.
Then one day it popped up on the iBook store for free!
woot!

So, yeah, probably that. Been too busy to read much, this year.
Confessions of a GP is another I enjoyed, but it was more "Blog to Paper", structure-wise. Bit odd..

7. Favourite film seen in 2010?
Nothing.
I can say that with absolute honesty.
That Star Trek film was the last film I watched, other than the odd "I'm bored, what DVDs can I be bothered to rewatch" instances.

8. Favourite TV program watched in 2010?
Fringe.
Took a few minutes to decide between that and Stargate Universe.
As much as I love Stargate Universe, I like Fringe a teensy tiny teeny weeny bit more.

9. Favourite catchphrase or motto in 2010?
*shrugs*
^ Not sure when I started using it so often, but it really has crept into a lot of my forum posts, lately.

10. Favourite PULP song of all time?
I refuse to pick one!
