Make up some Pulpy predictions for 2011. Nothing serious, bit of fun like. I'll start the ball rolling.
1. The new album will be called either, "How to Fail Epically" or "How to Fail Gracefully." It will be produced by Brian Eno.
2. They get commissioned to write the Comic Relief single. First number 1.
3. They play a set at the Brit/NME awards and the stage gets invaded by Leigh Francis dressed as Michael Jackson.
4. Something weird happens at Russell's 50th.
5. Jarvis and Mark do Top Gear's "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car", the latter cos of his F1 namesake. Mark drives fastest, but has the dubious honour of having to stand back to back with Richard Hammond to see who is taller. Richard wins.
I was thinking recently about how Eno produced Pulp album could sound fantastic! I reckon it will be live dates followed by a DVD of Hyde park for Xmas and if we are lucky some more unreleased demos in some kind of format. Here's hoping for a new album in 2012!
I seriously think we'll get new material: the message on the site, the New year's message imply that after the come back gigs, it's gonna happen. doesnt seem like a one off reunion.
What could be fun would be
- A record with unreleased songs from the past 30 years recorded properly - A LP of completly new material

I was thinking that it would be a one-off, 'cause their Twitter is called pulp2011.

I doubt there'll be a new album until 2012, but we might hear some new songs if there's a post Hyde Park tour of smaller venues. I really hope some rare stuff turns up, particularly the Quiet Revolution demo.
As for it only being temporary because of the twitter account, it could just be that 'pulp' was already taken.
I was going to write quite a bit here, but I've just been called on to do some work...
The Top Gear thing I'd say is pretty likely, particularly, as you say, as Pulp have a Mark Webber! Perhaps Jarvis hosting Have I Got News For You or Buzzcocks (or both...).
I don't know who Leigh Francis is lol.
Surely an appearence on Later... is more or less essential & more or less certain?
As I say, I'm not expecting an album until next year. I reckon it'll be named after a song tho'. Which of course does not suggest you're wrong! I often get stick from friends (mostly when Party Hard is playing) that Pulp sound too much like Bowie, so an Eno-produced album would be a bad idea in my opinion. Considering how much better the arrangements on demos provided by Scott & previously Trixy sound than WLL, I feel a self-produced album would be the way to go. I was impressed by Steve's production on the Long Blondes debut.
I hope they write a song about UFOs, & Russell sings/narrates it.
A "then & now" DVD of Glasto 95 (complete at last!) & Hyde Park would be ace, as would a best of (NOT a greatest hits) comp with a bonus CD of remastered real rarities such as After You & Cuckoo & some rarer session tracks would be lovely but now I'm just dreaming...
More realistically a full tour with some nice intimate venues like Reading Hexagon & the Garage or Astoria 2 or even something like Shepherd's Bush Empire would be good. I'll finish now before I go on forever...

A negative one unfortunately. I might be very wrong with this but given her dislike of touring extensively and that she's suffered with rheumatoid arthritis for years, Candida may find all that keys-playing a bit much on her wrists after not having played much in 8 years.
I'd be pleasantly surprised if she could do a whole tour (say more than 10 dates). Maybe we could even see Mark take over her parts on a lot of songs and Hawley to come in and do guitar. Again, just a thought - hopefully not.
I will be be a bit surprised though if Pulp themselves do a big tour. They may want to keep it special with a handful of festival dates. We shall see.
I'm sure they have bigger plans than that - Russell's involvment indicates so. If he left because 'being in Pulp was no longer artistically rewarding' would he really do it again just for a couple of nostalgic greatest hits sets? I think they're in for the long haul.
As for Candida, 7 months is a long time to 'train'. I'm sure she'll be match-fit. Having said that, my Dad used to be a semi-pro guitarist & had to quit because of a problem with his wrists. But I guess she wouldn't be up for it if she thought she couldn't do it? She obviously loves performing or why'd she've played at Jarvis' gigs in 2006?

I'm sure she loves performing - especially when they're one-offs like the ones she did with Jarvis. A long stint of gigs is a different story and could take its toll.
I would love to see the live shows but knowing that I will miss them, getting some remastered rarities or even re recorded version of Pulp new, old and rare would be thrilling and a complete Black Sessions box set would be aces!!
Help The Aged will be dedicated to Russell Senior when they play at Primavera. Russell will have turned 50 the previous week.
Should they play Bad Cover Version there will be a lyric change: ''Like Pulp since the '90's, like the last days of Southfork''.
At least one other artist, likely high-key, will perform a Pulp cover at the festivals. The lead singer of My Chemical Romance is big Pulp fan and they will headline a couple of festivals Pulp are playing. It would be interesting to hear Arctic Monkeys' take on Joyriders or something pre-1994.
