About a week before Pulp's reunion I was working on a cover of 'FEELINGCALLEDLOVE' - I don't normally sit around covering Pulp songs but I needed to play around with some new software before recording my own songs
It was intended as an intro track for some forthcoming live appearences I have.
However, in the spirit of Pulp's reformation... i kind of feel it's a song which not only decribes your unexplainable love for another person but also your love for a band - if you should so wish!
If there was one Pulp song to define this moment - I feel this might be it.
Soooooo... I don't want to inflict upon you nice people ... but if there is any interest for such a thing I will polish up the vocals and post it on the internet for your musical enjoyment over the weekend.
Well - that'll do! i was expecting nobody to what to hear it!
I'll record a new vocal tomorrow and mix it down so hopefully have a link for you soon. It's not very good! i don't want to build it up as if it's a wonder! I just thought it grand that I when I thought I'd play that song live as a bit of nostalga - then Pulp reform and it won't feel right doing it live now!
That is pretty good! I was enjoying it until the first chorus kicked in which took a bit of getting used to (always hard to hear variations of songs you love) but by the end of the tune I liked even that.
I'm gonna delete this from the Facebook page next week as I ready myself for live dates in the spring. I'm gonna keep it in the live set but only really put it up there for the peeps here.. so it's going soon - so... Listen... That's all.
I really f**king enjoyed that, well done! Your synth strings, especially at the begining, remind me of MLG, & the intro as a whole Tunnell.
The only critisism I can really make is that on the talking parts, it sounds a lot more like a Jarvis Cocker impression/impersonation than a 'propper' cover.
Apart from that, your voice on the 'it's so cold' bits & the final 'oh yeahhhhhhhhhh!!' sounds brilliant.
A bit dancier than stuff I'd normally listen to, but really really good. Oh, & ta very much for uploading 59 Lyndhurst Grove too, top man. (:
Thanks for the kind words James. I admit I was putting on a bit of a Jarvis for the verses - when I tried to do it 'straight' it just sounded really stupid!
