'The Book of Eli' - plagarising The Day After The Revolution?

I went to see the film 'The Book of Eli' tonight. It was a decent film, but one thing got my goat.

The song at the start and the end is a  rip off of Last Day of the Revolution, and it is uncredited. I'm not sure which song from the tracklisting it is I'm on about but anyone who has seen the film will know what I mean.

Grrrrr, Jarvis won't be happy if he watches this film!!no

You are all insane. It doesn't sound anything like Day After the Revolution.

It just sounds like your typical late-90's post-rock to me.

I don't get it either. Don't think it's the same notes or anything (I'm soooo musical) and can't imagine anyone being lazy enough to copy that bit of Pulp rather than just doing a new one. Maybe they thought they were having a crazily original idea in just making long sounds... hrm...

You wouldn't like to see this guy when he's angry too.

I listened to the whole soundtrack looking for something that sounds vaguely like Day After The Revolution but as far as I can make out it all sounds like this

As soon as I heard the track on the film, I thought, 'that reminds me of something', and the person I was with agreed in the car afterwards when I put on LDOFTR!! The songs title would be fitting for the film too.

I take it people don't agree though :P, oh well!

Yeah it's the same four notes used in the instrumental for the Pulp track. But that's no plagiarism, it's a simple sequence really, musically speaking.

Great, great, great song. Really sobering things up after the album.

Assuming you're talking about The Day After The Revolution, and not The Last Day Of The Miners' Strike, I have gone done fixed the topic title for y'all.
