Has anyone ever written to him and recieved a reply? Or do you think when his radio show starts they will have some kind of contact email, though i am sure he wont reply to all emails even if he is good with technology.
There is stuff that i would genuinely like to ask him but one thing i wanted to find out was if the public are allowed near the BBC radio studios. I don't know were they are or how it all works but there was someone who was there at one point who i wanted to meet and i wanted to know what the chances were for someone to turn up and possibly try to meet them.
What a shame, you couldnt make it to the Village Underground! Everyone who wanted to spoke to him/had pics taken. To be honest I imagine that he doesnt reply to fan mail (not sure if it actually reaches him personally) and when he starts doing the 6music show I doubt he will want to talk about himself as a singer, I reckon he will talk about music and other things. I would suggest you listen to the first 6music show and see if its actually live/and what he talks about. If it is live (some times they are pre-recorded) and you do want to go and meet him, go along to the BBC studios (Regent Street) and hang around outside to see him, if you hang around long enough I am sure youll be able to chat to him as he is so down to earth.
Just out of curiosity, what would you like to ask him, Im intrigued!
Jarvis is someone who i want to meet for obvious reasons. One of my idols for many many years since i was really a child did an interview at the BBC Radio 2 studios last year ( i dont know if all the radio studios are side by side or not ) and i know the chances of that happening again are slim but if it was possible and they did do another interview there i was just curious as to the security there. If they let members of the public near the entrance or even in the building. I suppose i assumed because it was the BBC that the public could go to their studios since we are paying for the BBC. And also i guess i was a little naieve in assuming Jarvis would help me out with that kind of information. I guess that shows that i look at Jarvis as just another person like me and not this godly figure that i am nervous about approaching.......as i would be with my idol.
I don't make a habit of meeting celebritys. You think of all those autograph hunters and photographers and i am sure there are places online were you can find out in advance were celebritys will be or if they are eating at a certain restraunt or doing any kind of appearances anywhere. I don't know anything about that and it is costly for me to travel to London but if all the dots connected again and i had the oppertunity to go i would. Maybe Jarvis will advise and maybe he wont. All radio presenters have a contact email for their shows so i might get a reply. I wouldn't be asking about him or his music and would only do that if i ever met him in person. I would imagine if you wrote to the studios any fanmail would get to him and i don't think Rough Trade would deliberately not give him any mail for him.
Hi, i see lots of pictures in my work of various dj's going to the BBC studios on Regent street (god if i see another fearn cotton picture i'm GOING TO SPEW) and there's always people hanging around. There's a very good chance you'd be able to meet him.
you wouldn't actually get in the building though, security's too tight, unless you are a guest of someone working there.
I read or heard an interview (probably a link from here somewhere) that it will be mostly live so he can react to texts and emails that he'll be sent throughout the show. I'd imagine though that the producer would see the texts and emails first.
Also, I know that he did one or 2 when he's been guesting on 6music from Manchester, don't know why maybe he was filming something up there too.
I think it would be easy to find out when he's recording a show, or when he's doing it live, all you'd have to do when he's doing it live is to hang around outside and you're sorted!
If my idol goes back there in the future if it would be possible for me to meet them and to find out if they let the public in the building or not or at least ask him the best way of meeting celebritys who go and do radio interviews.

why do you need to ask jarvis cocker that? isn't that like asking mick jagger what time they stop selling beer at wembley stadium?
best way to meet Jarvis is to stick around after one of his concerts. Either inside the venue or at the stage door. He often makes the effort to make an appearence.
