She was probably just moaning, just like how she hated touring and playing particular songs. It´s alright though, tis a woman´s prerogative...and she was the only one in the band. wink

A Pulp reunion would be rubbish, there's no point in it. And I'm not sure whether Nick Banks would do it, he's a family-friend of a friend, not sure what he's doing but he's nicely settled in Sheffield with some young kids (my friends sister babysits for them) and he's hardly loaded or anything, so it would be risky for him to pretty much change his life and go back on the road with Pulp.

Just accept it- it's not going to happen. I reckon Jarvis will end up playing Pulp songs as part of his solo set eventually though.

When Nick was asked on t´radio last year about a Pulp reunion his answer was fairly blunt: ´´It´s up to his nibs´´ (referring to Jarvis).

Nicely settled or not, Nick is a normal bloke who doesn´t upset the applecart, is down to earth and very obliging as Sturdy will testify. The perfect type of person to have in a band really.

And remember, when he joined Pulp he couldn´t believe his luck at becoming a member of his ´´favourite band´´. If there was to be a reunion I´d be confident that Nick would be the first to agree to it.

I agree, By the time his nibs does decide to do it, at best it would be half baked.  Can't see any former guitarist being part of it.  The best solution is for Jarvis to play more Pulp songs in his set, and maybe the odd song or two from Relaxed Muscle and other collaborations.  Always the same with solo artists, after a while they start to delve into their locker.

I agree with Calum and ArrGee. Except about Relaxed Muscle - ugh.

Would any of us want Different Class and a couple of singles from other albums to constitute a reunion?

If Pulp come back they should evolve.

Without a new album, for me there is no point.

Hawley should be involved. Mackey would be involved. It does seem likely that Webber and Senior would not be interested but it'd be nice of Nick Banks to be involved if only for a familiar face. I had no idea about the above post about Candida but can see no other reasons why she would not want to be back in Pulp.

I really could not care for Pulp to go through the motions like Blur did, yeah it was good but i'm not a massive Blur fan. I want to hear seperations tracks, I'd love to hear Intro tracks.

Hawley is the key, his popularity and stature have increased massively since Pulp went on hiatus.

I'm not a big Relaxed Muscle fan either. I thought I was the only one.

I never considered Hawley a member of Pulp, just a friend/collaborator. Don't think he's essential to any reunion.

Whenever I think out loud around here about reunion stuff, lineups, etc., it's just for fun.

I guess it depends on what you want from a reunion?

If it's a cash grab (don't misunderstand me - They all deserve the cash) and it'll involve 'best of' set lists, i'm not interested.

And you're welcome to them!

Didn't mind the first EP, but the album is the only Jarvis-related release (excluding collaborations) that I never bought. Bored rock star makes deliberately bad music for his own amusement? If you ask me, life really is too short.

I don't think Hawley is they key at all- firstly, he was never an OFFICIAL Pulp member, and secondly as his solo career is doing so well, why would he put that aside and reform a band he was never properly part of in the first place, playing other peoples songs?

The Blur shows were amazing, but it worked because it was the original line up and there was unfinished business between the band and Graham, and also because they never properly split up (you can say the same about Pulp up to a point, but Auto was very much their 'signing-off' gig- they pretty much knew it was the end).

A Pulp reunion in the same vain wouldn't work without a classic 90s line up, and would realistically have to include either Senior or Webber. Anyone who saw Blur this year will notice they didn't exactly dwell on the later Think Tank stuff (despite it being their best album..) and the same would be true for Pulp, not many people would want to see Pulp for the WLL songs, so Hawley in the reunion would make even less sense.

To be honest, I don't want Jarvis to sing Pulp songs in his solo set. It's far too early, people would only come to the gigs to hear Pulp material and it would completely remove the point of Jarvis as a solo artist.

I'd love Pulp to reform to make another album, not because I want to experience the old songs live. I know what Pulp were like live, I've watched dvds and youtube clips- it's not the same as being there, but then neither would seeing them play the songs 15 years on.

It would have to be at least Jarvis/Mackey/Doyle/Banks/Webber to make it worth it. Russel would be fantastic to see.

I've put this on the back burner again. I just can't see it happening in the next year and as with most things Pulp - they will probably miss the boat on this one and get the timing all wrong.

I have been refraining from comparing a Pulp reunion with the Blur one - but the way I feel about is that Blur did have unfinished business with Coxon onboard. As I missed Auto and as I now know many people who have discovered Pulp since 2002 I feel like I have unfinshed business with Pulp!

I saw Pulp 3 times and 2 of those I stood and watched on my own. I was too young to travel to Auto but always thought to myself that I'd want to be at Pulp's last concert. The way it happend I didn't really believe that was the end. I think it maybe time to resign myself to the fact that perhaps it was.
