He needs the money! Do you think the PULP money has finally dried up? Did the ex take half his worth? Maybe he's doing the radio show cuz he needs the money. I cant wait for day!
Dunno. I don't think Russell would, given that Guardian article. Mark's another grey area as well, what with his lecturing, film curation on both side of the Atlantic, studying himself, and writing a book or several books on Avant garde film, he's a very busy man. Plus, as has been raised here before, towards the end he was becoming increasingly detached from the whole music thing.
Candida....well according to her cousin Max, who I used to go to sixth form college with, Candida was suffering terrible arthritis in her hands, so bad in fact that at times she could barely straighten her fingers and judging that it was over ten years ago that he told me this, God knows how bad her condition has got now.
Cynical. I think if they want to do it they will. On one hand it may not be up to standard and it may all be a terrible embarrassing mess (but we haven't lost what went before do there's nothing to loose). On the other hand it may be the greatest reform ever! I certainly have friends who have discovered Pulp since 2002 and would love to see them play. I'd love to see them together again even if it was a bit of a one off!
And if you look at Jarvis of late he's certainly been on good form live and puts as much into it as he ever did.
Well, i would like to be positive, i mean if it really would happen it would be great. But I'm not too sure that neither Russell or Mark would be up for it. Scene Candida was playing with Jarvis some time ago on some tv-show...who knows?
I don't think she ever did any tricky work with her fingers.I'm Not having a pop - It's one of the things I love about Pulp is that none of them seem to be great musicians in theory but they are very creative and muddle on somehow to produce great work!
When Jarvis said at Glastonbury 1995, "if a lanky get like me can do it and us lot, then you can do it too" - I started taking guitar lessons and writing songs. I told Jarvis that in person and he laughed! He was really rather embarrased and modest about it -
A Pulp reunion would be rubbish, there's no point in it. And I'm not sure whether Nick Banks would do it, he's a family-friend of a friend, not sure what he's doing but he's nicely settled in Sheffield with some young kids (my friends sister babysits for them) and he's hardly loaded or anything, so it would be risky for him to pretty much change his life and go back on the road with Pulp.
Just accept it- it's not going to happen. I reckon Jarvis will end up playing Pulp songs as part of his solo set eventually though.
I am also not sure if Jarvis would get down to doing this, not sure he can actually be bothered to go through all the hassle unless he is really skint. Did anyone watch the interview on youtube with Absolute where he said he had no plans on playing music the next year or so? he got asked if he was playing any festivals. As it's been said, he will prob add some pulp songs to his solo sets in the future, same as Moz did in the end.
I await a contradicting story next week. I'll believe it when I see it I think. There's a nice video here where he talks about the recent residency and a bit about Pulp.
yes the crashing bores of Bono and co! ZZzzzz. so some people reckon the saturday headliners may be the Stones, could we be looking at a possibility of Pulp headlining Sun night?
