Hey anet, my friend just emailed me pics of the gig, and there is one when J is on the stairs, with me on the same shot (I'm chuffed!) but you are on the pic in the background, I recognise your tee!
legendarygirlfriend wrote:hey Leo, saw you right at the front, did you get one of the beers or was it the girl next to you? can't remember.
No, it was the girl next to me. Hope I didn't get on everybody's nerves by constantly getting on my phone to tweet my commentary!
Felt a bit embarrassed that the band had to practically trip over me to get onto the stage...I couldn't move any further back for them by that point! :S
Didn't see you Leo fiddling with your phone, was too busy watching JC do his thing!
Anet, I was the one in a red top who gave Jarvis a big kiss, couldn't believe I had the guts, I gues I was pretty hammered by then after drinking since 4pm!
That is quite cool the band had to say excuse me to get on, I couldn't believe there was no securty guarding the stage, I guess that shows us Pulp/Jarv fans are no teenagers anymore! eek!

Ah...did you give him the rose as well...?
And yes...the security was very relaxed. I guess we were all trusted to behave. Any one of us could easily have stuffed Jarvis under one arm and ran out the door with him if we had wanted to! ;)
Legendarygirlfriend - I know who you are now! The kiss - yes - it made me wish I'd been bold enough to do something like that. Sometimes you just have to seize the moment - if you stop to think about it, it's gone. I went to a Morrissey gig the week before, where someone ran onto the stage and kissed his hand, despite massive security. Cos I was at the barrier too, I thought 'what a great idea - I'm going to do that'. Morrissey was literally just a few feet in front of me, the security where all dealing with some other guy that had tried to run the stage, so I got my leg up onto the barrier and went to go. Then I stopped for a second to think about what I was actually going to do when I got there, and that was it - too late - security had seen me. (no I'm not a teenager either, and I wouldn't dream of doing that at a Jarv gig - it just seems to be a Morrissey thing)
Haha I wish Leo! hehe. Yes, Anet, that was exactly what happened! I walked past a flower stall on my way to the gig and thought, what the hell, I'll buy a red rose just in case I get the chance to do something fun. And what a suprise I managed to get up front and he came down during leftovers with his hand open right next time, so I gave it to him and when he came up close just seemed natural to give him a kiss hehehe very childish I know hey! but I am massive fan of his music also not only his looks! (He looks good now, didn't fancy him so much a couple of years back, he had really bad hair! hahaha... Anet, I love Moz too and have been to see him many times, he does seem to have a very obsessive following, I certainly cried the first time I saw him live, his voice was just something else live. But Jarvis and Pulp were the ones who changed my life in lots of different ways (met my partner while dancing to disco 2000 for example) so Jarvis' gigs are always biggies for me! ...
I see Morrissey as more of a god, and Jarvis as more of a best mate (even though he clearly wouldn't agree with me there!). Both give me equal enjoyment when I see them live and listen to their music, but just in a different sort of way.
I hope this post doesn't make me sound like an obsessed stalker!
not at all anet! I enjoy both almost equally, although the poor Moz is getting worse with age now! Saw him at the albert hall the other day and it was an OK gig, where did you see him last was that the Brentwood gig?
Saw him at Brentwood, and then 2 days later at Ally Pally. He was on top form both nights, but just a couple of weeks before, I'd had the misfortune of travelling all the way to Swindon to see him collapse on stage after the first song - not such a great night that time.
Oh no! I sympathise! as I was at the roundhouse gig where he walked off after 2 songs and then my albert hall gig got postponed! Oh well! hope he gets back into shape for some more gigs next summer maybe?
Hey - I was at that Roundhouse gig too! Doesn't matter to me how many times he cancels or doesn't finish - I'll still keep coming back for more. I believe that the good nights more than make up for the bad ones.
