Coming later this month, the second release from Fuss Free Productions...

pulploreley.jpg

I've tracked down a higher quality audio source for the Munich tracks so that should sound pretty awesome once I've married it up to the video. Check back soon!

Nice!

This might be a bit dicey copyright-wise, but it would be great if someone could do a decent DVD version of F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.I.V.E to replace the travesty that is Ultimate Live - speed corrected, with menus to access the individual bits so you can do things like just watch the concert straight through or go direct to the little films. In a way it's the sort of thing that would probably work better on DVD than it did on VHS.

It's a great idea Sturdy but that would surely result in legal action because it's commerically available, despite the fact that they royally cocked it up! I'm avoiding anything that can be found in the shops.

Well, this is the question - I was researching and there seems to be a longer setlist (there must have been), but according to the Acrylic Afternoons site/Pulp Wiki only four songs were broadcast.

If of course any of you has a longer version of Loreley 96 then please let me know!

As for Loreley 98, yes I have got that, I'm holding it back for a separate release, mainly because it's a longer show and will need a high video bitrate smile.gif

I only know of the short TV broadcast that you have. A longer audio recording does exist. It is excellent quality, so it probably originates from a TV or radio broadcast, no idea about the source though.

In the Eden Project thread you mentioned We Love Life era video. I have quite a few TV recordings from then, so if you are looking for anything in particular I might be able to help. The stills I've added in the TV section on PulpWiki give some indication of what I've got and the quality. I have a lot of older stuff too, but in most cases the quality is probably not good enough.

Will - Do you have the longer/excellent quality audio of Loreley 96 to share? Would be really good to have as I'm sure it would be an improvement on the VHS audio. As for the WWL era stuff, feel free to send a list of what you have and I'll let you know what I'm missing smile.gif

zaqx - Nice one, let me know if you find it!

Yes! I must be one of the few with the full set?
Disco 2000
DYRTFT
Mis-shapes
Babies
Sorted
Live bed show
Underwear
Common people
Not bad quality, VHS source i'm guessing to DVD.

Good to hear! Definitely interested in that - unless someone has a master VHS recording?

This whole DVD project is just lovely! Great job on the Eden Project one by the way Pip. I eventually worked out how to get it working! ;)

Here you go:
22 June 1996 - Rockpalast Festival audio

As for the WWL era stuff, feel free to send a list of what you have and I'll let you know what I'm missing smile.gif

I don't have time to make a list now. But basically, I have pretty much everything from between 2000 and 2002, except ITV's Reading Festival coverage in 2002, so I'd be interested if anyone else was able to share that.  Most of what I've got is either a master VHS recording or a first generation copy.  I have digitised some of it myself, but the equipment I have got isn't the best, so if you are interested in anything, it might be better if I send you the original tapes.

That's great Will - I'm loving the community spirit here! We'll all end up with a great and not so little Pulp DVD collection in time...

As for the WLL-era stuff, sounds bloody awesome, would certainly plug a large gap in my collection! If you'd be willing to loan me your original tapes (as SarahAWilson very kindly did a couple of weeks ago) I can get the contents copied over and send them back to you - will be happy to post the finished DVDs too. Just PM me if you're up for it.

Edited to add: I've just compared your Loreley with the VHS audio and it's like night and day, a massive improvement, so thank you! smile.gif

I was looking through an old Pulp tape last night and guess what I found - Loreley 96! The complete show! Completely slipped my mind that I had it... unfortunately the quality isn't great so I'm still relying on a forumer's copy... when it arrives I'll get things moving smile.gif

You should get it this week.
(Oh, and the quality is alright actually, sounds better than the copy you have).

There's a Royal Mail strike all day Thurs/Fri so you may want to send it early next week, otherwise it may never reach me (all that undelivered mail)...

In all aspects yes - it's a very clean picture.for a 13 year old recording. As for an ETA, I think it should be ready for the end of October.

Just out of interest, does anyone have what they think is a decent copy of the Munich 96 gig (Live aus dem Alabama)? I ask on the off chance that we can improve on the copy I have been kindly loaned by SarahAWilson (I would rate it as a grade B- recording, it's 2nd generation VHS and there's a faint patterning on the picture, probably caused by a poor aerial reception)...

I've uploaded a sample here:

Final call for the Munich 96 footage (see above) - if nobody has replied by Friday then I'll carry on with what I have and get this DVD finished over the weekend.

Thanks ;)

It's been a bit of a challenge but worth it of course - big thanks must go to Will, zaqx and Sarah A Wilson for their invaluable help in putting it together!

Please remember to seed - I can only upload for so long so share and share alike!
