It seems that Jarvis is only listed as singing one song off the soundtrack. Wonder if he will be credited for writing others.

3. Mr. Fox in the Fields
4. Heroes and Villains The Beach Boys
5. Fooba Wooba John Burl Ives
6. Boggis, Bunce, and Bean
7. Jimmy Squirrel and Co.
8. Love Nancy Adams
9. Buckeye Jim Burl Ives
10. High-Speed French Train
11. Whack-Bat Majorette
12. The Grey Goose Burl Ives
13. Beans Secret Cider Cellar
14. Une Petite Īle Georges Delerue
15. Street Fighting Man The Rolling Stones
16. Fantastic Mr. Fox AKA Peteys Song Jarvis Cocker
17. Night and Day Art Tatum
18. Kristoffersons Theme
19. Just Another Dead Rat in a Garbage Pail (behind a Chinese Restaurant)
20. Le Grand Choral Georges Delerue

Mark Mothersbaugh (devo) usually does the original stuff for Wes' films (apart from the last one which was a compilation of mostly old indian music)

not sure if jarvis has taken over for this one or if he's just done the odd song

George Delerue composed the original score.

Curb your enthusiasm, people. Jarvis has worked on films before, and he always ends up on the cutting room floor.

A hoedown. I think it sounds pretty good.

FYI - the official site for Fantastic Mr. Fox is streaming the original score, and it's really cute, like music from an old Looney Tunes cartoon.

And I found this hilarious quote in an online preview:
British songwriter Jarvis Cocker, who's also well-known as a member of the reunited-maybe-not-reunited Blur, wrote the track "Fantastic Mr. Fox AKA Petey's Song" specifically for the film.

Oh yeah I remember! Didn't they do 'Country People', 'Sorted For Girls & Boys'??

Or was it just 'Fucking Song 2"?

Oh, and don't forget 'I'm a Charmless Man'! Ace song. Don't know why the band doesn't play that one anymore.

And of course, before Jarvis Cocker joined Blur, he briefly dated the lead singer of Suede, and together, they wrote the smash hit "Common Trash".

More stringent than this:

  • Sarah said
  • Blur? Blur! BLUR!

Sack the Journalist! Jarvis Cocker was the lead singer in PULP you idiot!

    Do your research next time.

Great pic symphonie. He is adorable. For some reason I pictured Petey as a young boy.

At the premiere for Fantastic Mr Fox. Not exactly the most insightful little 'interview', but thought it worth posting anyway.
