We know from Jarvis' comments that they were in "extreme poverty" at the time "OU" was released as a single hence the fact that it didn't have a video so I'm guessing that whatever money they made from everything up until "Countdown" had dried up at this point.
Take a look at "Different Class", it was in the charts for months and months plus it had four top 10 singles. Also, "This is Hardcore" was a number 1 album and the first two singles off it did relatively well (also, despite its pretty desolate chart position, the remixes of "Party Hard" seemed to get played in clubs as often as "Disco 2000" did when that was released). "His n Hers" and "We Love Life" also made the top 10. I'm guessing from these four albums they did make quite a lot of money.
It's also worth taking a look at the Fire compilations, especially "Countdown 1992-1983" - it must have been a nice little earner for Jarvis but he pleaded with fans not to buy it. Also, they removed the licence from "Disco 2000" before the millennium to prevent it being used. Again, easy money turned down.
I think that Jarvis is not rich but has a very comfortable lifestyle and is sensible with his money.
