Jarvis is returning to Australia!!

so very fabulous! It seems instead of doing a Melbourne show he will be doing some festival which I think will be Meredith.

After charming us at the inaugural Australian V Festival, Jarvis Cocker returns here in early December for headline shows. The Britpop icon has forged a prestigious solo career, delivering his second post-Pulp album Further Complications in June this year.

In the words of FasterLouders reviewer: Cocker has again focused his binoculars on finding romance in the mundane and it is truly invigorating stuff. For the sake of the music, lets hope these Further Complications are left unresolved. As the mans previous performances here would attest, his wit and finesse is only magnified onstage.

Jarvis Cocker brings his Further Complications to these venues in December. Tickets on sale Friday 14 August.

Saturday December 5 The Hi-Fi, Brisbane
Monday December 7 The Metro Theatre, Sydney
Tuesday December 8 Metropolis, Perth
Thursday December 10 HQ, Adelaide

any other Aussies on here?

That's an impressive amount of the globe he'll have covered between spring of last year and winter of this. Latin America (for the first time), Taiwan (first time?), central Europe, Greece (for the first time in a decade), and the USA and Canada.

It must be great when you get to the stage of your career where you can pick and choose, (though I'm sure it's not that straight-forward) rather than having the dubious honour of the record company pressing for its pound of flesh and packing you off to tiny clubs in America for two months where no one has ever heard of you.

I was listening to a Hardcore-era bootleg recorded in Adelaide recently (while marking exams. Helped keep me sane) and it was fantastic. The Aussies were going mad for it.

I have that boot - from the Adelaide 1998 show - he talks about Pauline Hanson and walking around Adelaide!

Do you know if any other Australian shows from that tour exist??

Not great for the fans.  Sure did suck to be one of the 90% not living in NY-LA-SF and therefore missing so many tours.

I won't be going to this... I luv Jarvis but I draw the line at poxy festivals. bleh.gif  The line up looks kind of sad too. I am still hoping there is a chance of a city gig.
