I thought Jarvis looked in a great mood and pretty pleased with himself. He looked like he wanted to say something a second before JF started wrapping up the show.
hmm... apparently the durmmer from ROOTS bagged Jarvis out on twitter (not to his face pfft!) for the michael jackson brit awards incident (If I hear about that one more time I will die of boredom...at the very least) Plus he suggested Jarv was drunk on the JF show?!
If tonights performance was any indication, Further Complications is going to be the second single. Loved it. They sounded great, and the dance moves were just right. Here's hoping he makes more appearances. Speaking of appearances....damn, Steve Mackey. Just how much fangirling is tolerated around these parts?
My favourite part was at the very end, Jarvis was grinning from ear to ear. You could see he was genuinly enjoying himself. It looked like Jimmy was pretty enthusiastic to meet Jarvis as well, although, he seemed awkward, which is nothing new, introducing him, "Tonight's musical guest....Jarvis Cocker. You know, Pulp...Common People" (said in a British accent) lol
Do as much fangirling as you like - we need a bit more of it, to counter-balance the boys and their vinyl completism.

wow, pretty rediculous all around. Kinda glad Quest Love didn't take it out him after the show. He's had about enough of it I'm sure. Got a link to this twitter post, symphonie?

Anyone know what sort of ratings the Jimmy Fallon show usually gets? I'm a bit surprised that Jarvis had to move one of his US shows to a smaller venue as (going on first week chart positions) Further Complications is his best-selling album in the States since This Is Hardcore. Which might not be saying much but still...
Further Complications makes sense as the next single, though most of us would prefer Girls Like It Too. Weed, I think, was bang-on when he said it would make a good tribute to the 5th anniversary of John Peel's death, considering his brother (Peel's, not Weed's) inspired the song. The fact that it was played at Glasto aswell got my hopes up of it being a single. Probably just be a b-side now.
If it's not Further Complications, a re-mix of I Never Said I Was Deep (with no horns and a few edits on the vocals) would be my personal choice as next single.
I don't know the numbers, Eamonn, but the ranking is usually Letterman, Conan, Jimmy, so it's a fair number tuning in. Jimmy is on after those first two, so odds are, give or take the night, about half their audience would stay tuned for Jimmy. He's fairly new as host, but I think the show's been growing stronger, and I heard his ratings have been going up over the summer.
I would say FC is the obvious choice based on length and punch. I love some of the other songs, but they are longer, or have too long of an intro, like Homewrecker. Now, Caucasian Blues would be an interesting choice, and even as it's slowly growing on me, I think Discosong might become a dance hit.

Sorry I don't have a link to the twitter post...but there are quite a few references to it on Google news... you could start here: http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2009/07/uestlove_confused_by_first-eve.html
I hate to quote michael jackson myself...but... 'he was just being ignorant' ;)
I've noticed that in the past year or 2, most talk show hosts hold up the vinyl when presenting the band (if they have a proper record available.) I does make more sense then having the camera focus in on tiny cd.
When KEANE was on JF a few weeks ago he held up not the cd but the cd booklet... I guess the plastic case flashes the camera. I thought it was cool the way he flipped open the FC LP I haven't found anywhere that sells new vinyl...gotta luv those HUGE pics!
