I'm kicking myself for not heading to Barcelona tonight to see Jarvis play at the Primavera Sound Festival. I had it in mind a few weeks ago but the date crept up on me and last night as I was poring over the line-up I was still umming and aahing whether to go or not. 70 EUR for a one day/night ticket isn't bad considering who is playing. It was more the eight and a half hour bus journey from here that put me off. Plus I'd be on my own.

But looking at who I could have fitted in - starting off with Bat For Lashes, then - Spiritualised, My Bloody Valentine, Jarvis, Saint Etienne and Bloc Party...annoyed with myself now. Especially as it's Jarvis' first proper show in 6 months and I'm sure he'll give a brilliant performance. Bound to be a great buzz about the place after the Champions League win on Wed night aswelll....sigh...

Now, I'm thinking of the 'Ejekt' festival in Athens next month. Held over two days, again just 70 euros a ticket with a small but impressive bill. Alongside Jarvis, there's the Pixies, Editors, Royksopp, Klaxons and Lauryn Hill! (good to know she's still alive).

Judging from the festivals he's doing, it appears JC wants to try out less common places for gigs where he hasn't been much. He's also doing one in Portugal at the start of August which has Supergrass and Franz Ferdinand too. The one thing putting me off that is it's the day after he gets back from his American dates so I'm not sure if he'll be up to/for it, understandably so.

I know there's a few here going to Glasto. Anyone else planning on a summer festival (featuring Jarvis or not)?

I'm off to the V Festival this summer - James are playing - yay! Oasis are headlining that day - not sure if that's a good or bad thing - I'll most probably pop along to see them inthe absence of anything better.

Ejekt sounds good - Jarvis, of course, and I would love to see The Editors too. I remember Royksopp following Pulp after their last gig at the Magna Centre in Sheffield.

I was going to go to Barcelona too - but would also have been going alone. Also really busy at work right now so figured the UK dates would have to be enough for me.

What's the festival in Portugal? The dates might work out a bit better for me.

I'm off to Latitude for the third year in a row - really looking forward to seeing the Editors, Bat For Lashes, Squeeze, Nick Cave, Animal Kingdom and Spiritualized again, as well as first times for the Pet Shop Boys, Doves, Pretenders, White Lies and Magazine, and catching up with some of the comedy and theatre performances - if anyone else is going be sure to watch Ben Moor in the theatre tent, it's the funniest one man show I've ever seen.

Thinking of going to the Green Man festival too as my Dad lives pretty close by...

Will be interesting to see the set-list of his gig in Barcelona last night, if it surfaces.
Was Girls Like It Too played I wonder...all that's on youtube is a clip of Big Julie.
