What's this?
Particularly the TIH mix?

It must be a promo for "Hits". Note the date: 2002, and the mixture of tracks from both WLL and TIH.

The tracks are all readily available. The Tipsy remix of TIH is more commonly known as "The Swedish Erotica" remix and is available on the pink TIH single.

The other tracks: Kid Loco's remix of A Little Soul is available on the Little Soul single, but titled "Lafayette Velvet" remix. Imagine A Little Soul, slowed down and made even more turgid.

Nick Cave's version of Disco 2000 appeared on the Bad Cover Version single. It's not very good. The Fat Truckers' Sunrise remix appears on one of the two (almost indecipherable) Sunrise singles. Its unbearable.

As promos go, this one is pretty awful. I kind of like the Tipsy remix because I like Tipsy, but it's totally bizarre and barely resembles the Pulp track.

(Alternatively, this promo could have been for the US release of WLL, before Island N. America decided to drop Pulp. Or, perhaps, it could have been a promo for the Forest Tour? Do bands send out promo records to promote tours? If so, why would they send out such terrible tracks?)
