Attending my first conert this year..

Hello people, i have recently discovered your online presence. Be gentle with me if you will. This year i have realised that Jarvis will be doing a concert in Glasgow and i am considering going. I wanted to go last time he was here but from what i could find out he only did Edinburgh. I was hoping some of you who have paid to go and see him live could tell me if theres a chance to meet him afterwards. I was only wanting the vinyl copy of his album signed and maybe a picture with him, i havent read anywhere online about him doing any kind of meet and greets afterwards. Also the venue in Glasgow isnt huge and ive no idea what kind of fanbase he has these days, if its teens or adults but either way id look like a complete idiot turning up to the concert with LPs in hand.......unless i knew i could meet him.
I did speak to the venue and they told me they dont arrange any such things and the only place they could garuntee meeting the performers was at the designated parking place for their tour bus etc but that would mean waiting during the day till they arrived or until they leave the venue at night. I dont think thats for me at all....I suppose i thought with it being a small venue and a small.....to large chance lol....that it would be mostly adults there that he would do some kind of thing afterwards.

I also read on somewebsites that he was hoping to incorporate discussions for his upcoming tour, i guess that means interacting with the audience. He was also looking to turn the venues into a disco at the end. Im sure i wont get a performance of Disco 2000 out of him! Will there be any reviews of the shows up here? Maybe that will give an indication of what to expect and exactly what he does after the shows finished. Im not even a talkative person and ive no idea what ill say but i would like to say hello and tell him how much i like his music etc and get my LP signed. Even a handshake would be cool.

Hi mate; on his last tour each gig ended with an hour long 'Jarvis DJ set'. In Manchester I know that this involved Jarv walking to the sound booth thing in the middle of Academy 1 and trying to DJ whilst people had photos and chatted to him. From what I've read on here I think you can find him in a bar/pub near the venue afterwards too.

Unfortunately I left before getting my long awaited chance to meet Jarvis in Manchester, as he didn't come out for a while, and I thought the DJ set was people DJing for him!

Good luck! I'd go to the gig anyway by the way as he always seems to give his shows 100% and won't disappoint (my only complaint is that I don't think the crowd gets going enough ie: no mass jumping up and down even for the likes of Fat Children)!

I've had a bit chat with him a couple of times after his shows. He is very polite even though I tend to make a tit of myself!

I think I'm getting a bit old and fat for jumping around like a fool at gigs. Last time I tried it i was nearly sick! - Got some strange looks as well! - These days my place is to stand at the back tapping my toes like a gent.

There's no such thing as being too old for jumping about at gigs!  It's the last place left that you can make a fool of yourself after a certain age.

I regret trying to be too 'cool' at the last ever Pulp gig at the Magna Centre - the warm-up band was on and there weren't many peopke around yet, and I noticed that Jarvis was just a couple of feet behind me, watching them.  I kick myself over it now, but I thought it would be uncool, or somehow impolite to Jarvis if I said anything to him!  If I had the opportunity again I'd just go and make a tit of myself anyway!
