I can not believe there is any debate over the beard. The man obviously looks better with facial hair.

Ooh, Bar Italia's first ever poll (?).

I think the beard is a bit too Peter Sutcliffe (Jarvis' words, not mine) but I much prefer the way his hair it is now. Was too long and hippyish previously.

I think he'll shave it off in time for tv promo of Girls Like It Too so that a new generation of teenage girls can fall in love with him rather than find him resembling their pervy uncle.

Hmmm, unsure on this. Maybe the beard could go but the tash could stay?

Maybe he should keep the beard and shave all his hair off?

When you got a skin face, the beard fills it in. At least thats why I have beard?

I think it depends on how long he's hair is. If you get used to him having beard and short hair it becomes alright after a while... i prefer short hair and beard over non comb/washed hair.

I've got used to his beard.

I don't know why but he looks almost like a male solo artist with a big career behind him should look :).

And he also looks like a Geography teacher which isn't bad as I study that at uni!

I prefer the short hair over the longer hair, allthough that had something as well. Perhaps he would shave his beard off after a while, it would look like the WLL days.

i hated the long hair, but i do like the beardy look now.  as long as he doesn't put it into a goatee or a comedy tash

though actually he'd look good with a handlebar tash i think

Loved this.

Keep the short hair, loose the beard (and the moustache, just to ensure).

Some of you lot won't be happy till he throws contact lenses and half a kilo of foundation into the mix so it's 1995 again.

Personally I prefer the 1993 polyester/bri-nylon/acrylic look.  Sparks used to fly between the band and the front row smile

Yes, that was good. Russell just wasn't Russell without his PVC jacket!

When we came to do the shows, a lot of people seemed to think it was very important that I got rid of the beard. There were forum discussions. I thought about it, but I did have a slight fear that I may have developed a double chin in the interim. There could be a jowl under there. So the answer to that question is that I don't think I'm hiding anything.

I was a bit confused when I started reading that because i hadn't looked at the date. Does Jarvis check in on this forum? Are there other Pulp forums?
