Jarvis has joined a crew of musical artists who will beatbox to reduce knife crime. I'm not sure how a charity event proposes to reduce the number of people who have knives, or choose to use them on other people, but hey, it sounds like a fun 'do.

The Pitchfork article says he'll be joined by Venessa Carlton, who, apparently, sang that song "A Thousand Miles".

Now, I'm going to make an embarrassing confession. I think that song (A Thousand Miles) is actually a pretty decent peice of pop-music craftmanship. Put a little fuzz on it, and replace Carlton's Lisa Simpson-esque MOR vocals with something more gentle and lilting, and it could have been a pretty good indie track.... Anyway... it's better than Cosmos Rocks.
