What does everyone think about Tony Christie's new single, a cover of Born To Cry? I'm undecided, it's a great song but I'm not sure it suits his overly-accurate vocal technique. Funny thing: Planet Sound describe it as a cover of a Pulp 'rarity'! How does a song you can easily buy as a download or on the Notting Hill soundtrack count as a 'rarity'?!
...cos it was never on a Pulp single or album. Which means if you don't download music you have to buy the fecking Notting Hill soundtrack to get it. I have live versions of never recorded 1980s Pulp songs but I don't have Born To Cry.
Oh and the title of this thread - could you narrow it down a bit? Thought Jarvis had announced Girls Like It Too as his comeback.
*grumpy hat off*
Agreed about Christie's version. In fairness I think it would be pretty difficult to pull of a good Pulp cover. Jarvis' voice suits his words so well.
Worth noting that "Born to Cry" was only available on the UK exclusive soundtrack for Notting Hill. The international soundtrack for Notting Hill replaces Born to Cry with a Boyzone track.
