Okay, maybe this is a bit of a cheap idea for a thread, but I'm bored.
Am curious to hear what the 'average' Pulp fan is currently listening to, so if anyone fancies putting their iTunes or what not on random and listing the first ten tracks it throws up then that would be cool.
I'm sure everyone loves showing off their musical tastes so hopefully some people will humour me! ;) I'll begin...
1: Sparks - Confusion 2: The Futureheads - A Picture Of Dorian Gray 3: Pulp - Sheffield: Sex City 4: Genesis - Hold On My Heart (aaaargh...damn iTunes for embarrassing me!!) 5: Maximo Park - Girls Who Play Guitars 6: Morrissey - You Have Killed Me 7: The Shins - Turn On Me 8: Talking Heads - Air 9: Pulp - Dogs Are Everywhere 10: Inspiral Carpets - Move
1: The Pink Floyd - Apples & Oranges 2: The Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The UK 3: Pulp - Don't You Want Me Anymore? 4: Amen - Oblivion Stereo 5: Motorhead - The One To Sing The Blues 6: Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone 7: The Smiths - Cemetery Gates 8: Slayer - Necrophobic 9: Pulp - Last Day Of The Miner's Strike 10: Syd Barrett - Late Night
Isn't it funny how our Pulp songs both showed up at 3 & 9!! W e i r d !
1. The Frank & Walters - Daisy Chain 2. Dexy's Midnight Runners - Seven Days Is Too Long 3. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb 4. Rivers Cuomo - Ooh 5. Kate Bush - Oh! To Be In Love 6. The Beatles - Happiness Is A Warm Gun 7. My Bloody Valentine - I Only Said 8. Johnny Cash - I Hung My Head 9. Joy Division - Atmosphere 10. David Bowie - Lady Grinning Soul
1. Emma Pollock- Paper and Glue 2. Old 97's- Timebomb 3. Paul Stanley- "Track 51" (This is from the bootleg anthology of his insane stage patter from KISS shows. There are no track names that I know of.) 4. Beauty Pill- Bone White Crown Victoria 5. Gorky's Zygotic Mynci- Miss Trudy 6. Pulp- Lipgloss (My favorite Pulp song!) 7. Handsome Boy Modeling School- Modeling Sucks 8. Duke Ellington- I Can't Give You Anything But Love 9. Kanye West- Last Call 10. Morrissey- Such a Little Thing Makes Such a Big Difference
1. Saint Etienne - Nothing Can Stop Us 2. Jean Michel Jarre - Magnetic Fields 3 3. Echo & the Bunnymen - Nothing Lasts Forever 4. Aphex Twin - Inkey$ 5. T.Rex - Interstellar Soul 6. Sophia - Oh My Love 7. Robert Wyatt - The British Road 8. Wire - Fragile 9. Baby Birkin - Mélo Mélo 10. Manic Street Preachers - Glasnost
No Pulp, but I have got like 15,000-odd songs in there, so it's quite good that Baby Birkin made it in.
(note: my cellphone is an mp3 player, but I only have around 200 songs on it)
1. Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass - Lollipops & Roses 2. Lata Mangeshkar - Chup Chup Khade Ho (rest of title cut off) 3. Submarine Races - The Boat that I Row 4. New Order - Age of Consent 5. Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Doll's Polyphony 6. Acid House Kings - You're A Beautiful Loser 7. Shirelles - Baby It's You 8. Dory Previn - Mary C. Brown and the Hollywood Sign 9. Love - The Daily Planet 10. Akemi Misawa - Konban denwa de (title cut off)
The only thing that came up that relates back to Pulp/Jarvis is the Dory Previn track, which I found after hearing "Girl with the Braids in her Hair" on the Jarvis/Steve mix cd.
