Strange, I've been playing this so much lately and trying to replicate it on guitar. The G-F-Am chord sequence drives the whole song but there's so much going on that it would be great to have the lead bits too. Sorry I can't help though, my tablature writing and replicating is probably on a par with Jarvis/Russell's!
Russell's guitars always have me puzzled. I do love this style of playing though. My guitarist in my band is much the same. Stick your fingers on a fret and see if it sounds ok type of thing haha. Its good.
I'm also wondering what Russy plays on the verse to Do You Remember the first time. I thought I had it sussed then I realised when watching it live on you tube he plays the same thing for each chord. He doesn't change finger position and it sounds the same yet it works... Hmmm...
Quite a bit of the guitar on Live On uses harmonics an that, in the verse? I really like his guitar in the Separations stuff, like in the live version of Death II. A lot of that is seemingly improvised just with basic pentatonic scales (yet it sounds ace) though I could be wrong.
