Do you have a link/source for this?

Don't the venues seem a bit big? That is, presuming it's Jarvis you're talking about...

Thanks Leo. £17.50? Sure that's peanuts these days...if you're in the Eurozone ;)
I know he said an early-'09 release is likely for the new album but I wonder if he'll release a single around the time of these dates. Give 'Girls Like It Too' a lash, with a suitably hilarious video, and see if it fuels more interest ahead of the album.

The whole 'release a comeback single two weeks before the album' is all well and good if the song does well, but if it doesn't make an impact the whole campaign can often fall on its arse. Still can't believe DLHWYT wasn't put out before his first solo album, considering how well it did when it was finally release as a single in January last year.

Oh and there's a Manchester date in there somewhere too.

It's part of a Rough Trade 30th Anniversary tour. More info here.

Wait, so he'll only be on for a handful of songs before giving way for some indie lightweights?

Rough Trade's current roster is fairly impressive, as current rosters go:

1990s
Aberfeldy
Albert Hammond
Antony & The Johnsons
Arcade Fire
A.R.E. Weapons
Virginia Astley
Babyshambles
Beachwood Sparks
Bell Orchestré
Belle & Sebastian
Brakes
British Sea Power
Basia Bulat
Jarvis Cocker
Cornershop
The Decemberists
Destroyer | MySpace
Delays
Detroit Cobras
Dr. Dog
Cara Dillon
Dirty Projectors
Baxter Dury
Eastern Lane
Equation
The Fiery Furnaces
Adam Green
Hal
The Hidden Cameras
Islands
Lavender Diamond
Jeffrey Lewis
Jenny Lewis
The Libertines
The Long Blondes
Low
The Mescalitas
Miracle Fortress
The Moldy Peaches
Oneida
Phantom Buffalo
Queen Adreena
Eddi Reader
Relaxed Muscle
Alasdair Roberts
Royal City
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions
Scissors For Lefty
Scritti Politti
The Strokes
Sufjan Stevens
Sun Kil Moon
Super Furry Animals
Emiliana Torrini
The Tyde
The Unicorns
The Veils

If Jarvis is tying this show to to Pulp's 30th Anniversary, I figure there's some slim chance he might polish off a tune from "It" or maybe something older. He did strum a few bars of Shakespeare Rock recently.

There are two more dates in Birmingham & Edinburgh. I'm wondering which town I should grace my presence with...

Sheffield Academy (November 25)
London Shepherds Bush Empire (26)
Edinburgh Picture House (28)
Manchester Academy (30)
Birmingham Academy (December 2)

You're right Fuss Free, didn't realise I had so many albums by Rough Trade artists in my cd collection.

The article on nme.com suggests that a lesser-light from Mr Geoff Travis' stable will support Jarvis so it looks like it might be a 'proper gig' after all. Not too keen on the whole ''Thank Abba for the music" tribute vibe.

Remember last years Astoria show was part of the NME awards, & that was still a whole set. I'm pretty confident it'll be a full gig.

I wonder if any older Rough Trade artists will be appearing (Obviously not The Smiths, though.) Here's a full list of everyone ever signed to the label.

Me too! See ya there then.

Wouldn't it be great if Relaxed Muscle is the support!

Well, I'd love it. I know this board isn't exactly choc full of RM fans, but I definately am one!

Cool! I'll see you down the front hopefully! Was right at the front of the Roundhouse gig, but nature called after he had only played one song and I had to surrender my position to go to the toilet!! :(

Have to be careful not to drink too much before the show this time!
