Thanks Leo. £17.50? Sure that's peanuts these days...if you're in the Eurozone ;) I know he said an early-'09 release is likely for the new album but I wonder if he'll release a single around the time of these dates. Give 'Girls Like It Too' a lash, with a suitably hilarious video, and see if it fuels more interest ahead of the album.
The whole 'release a comeback single two weeks before the album' is all well and good if the song does well, but if it doesn't make an impact the whole campaign can often fall on its arse. Still can't believe DLHWYT wasn't put out before his first solo album, considering how well it did when it was finally release as a single in January last year.
Oh and there's a Manchester date in there somewhere too.
If Jarvis is tying this show to to Pulp's 30th Anniversary, I figure there's some slim chance he might polish off a tune from "It" or maybe something older. He did strum a few bars of Shakespeare Rock recently.
You're right Fuss Free, didn't realise I had so many albums by Rough Trade artists in my cd collection.
The article on nme.com suggests that a lesser-light from Mr Geoff Travis' stable will support Jarvis so it looks like it might be a 'proper gig' after all. Not too keen on the whole ''Thank Abba for the music" tribute vibe.
I wonder if any older Rough Trade artists will be appearing (Obviously not The Smiths, though.) Here's a full list of everyone ever signed to the label.
Wouldn't it be great if Relaxed Muscle is the support!
Well, I'd love it. I know this board isn't exactly choc full of RM fans, but I definately am one!
Cool! I'll see you down the front hopefully! Was right at the front of the Roundhouse gig, but nature called after he had only played one song and I had to surrender my position to go to the toilet!! :(
Have to be careful not to drink too much before the show this time!
