Fire Extinguisher as an Instrument?

Hi All,

Thinking back, I think the sleevenotes for His 'n' Hers, it states that Jarvis 'uses' (I did start to type 'play', but thought better of the terminology!) a fire extinguisher as an instrument.

Does anyone have any ideas on which track?  I have a personal opinion to which track I think it is, but I thought that I'd throw the gates open to the Pulp Public out there!

(For a first post, this isn't a scary as I thought!)

Regards,

Greg

Is it perhaps hissing away in the bridge section of Do You Remember The First Time...? Not sure though.

Only other album I have seen that lists Fire Extinguisher as an 'instrument' is ELO's Out Of The Blue. Anyone know of any more...?

It's on David's Last Summer, "played" by Nick.

Nice username by the way NB.

Ah okay...so presumably it is just being used as percussion rather than actually being let off as a "special effect"? Is it throughout David's Last Summer, or is there a specific moment it's used?

There's a 'chink chink' sound somewhere around the line about 'the birds deciding where to go for the winter', I've always assumed it's that. I seem to remember Dr Pulp explaining that Nick had initially wanted to record it being let off, but had to settle for hitting it with a drumstick. I guess it could appear in the crescendo towards the end of the song as well.
