If anyone cares, last nite I played Acrylic Afternoons live (again) at the 3Bs in Reading. Thought it'd be nice to know Pulp songs are still getting played! ;)
More to the point, it was recieved by the crowd like the winning goal in an FA Cup final. Just goes to show, Pulp songs really go down well live, even if it's not Pulp who are playing them! Hint, hint, Jarvis!
I can imagine Jarvis has probably shyed away from playing Pulp songs for that exact reason. It'd probably be a bit soul destroying to hear them get a much bigger applause than his new stuff. Then again, they are all still his songs!
Would be interested to hear a recording of this live Acrylic Afternoons of yours we have heard so much about.
Thanks! Although my other Pulp covers are far more 'traditional', so probably not so exciting! As for AA, I don't think anyone's recorded me doing it. They used to record the 3Bs nites, but the machine broke! Which is a pity 'cos I lost a song I only ever played once & forgot how to play. ):
