Hookay, I know I said I'd be less surprised to see Blue Girls be the first solo Pulp song than Something Changed, but that's surprised me somewhat!

(In keeping with my original prognosis, not as surprising as Babies tho'...!)

I hope someone recorded this?

Good old GIles from acrylicafternoons.com was there and has promised a full report soon.

As an aside, Giles also reports thay a Cocker/Hawley co-write from the start of the century, 'Happy New Year Baby' (which oddly enough I was recently thinking if it had ever been recorded) was performed by the pair at Richard's Albert Hall gig last week.

It really does show how much of a nostalgia-fiend Jarvis really is, for all the talk of "afraid of boring the arse off people" when the more trainspotter elements of Pulp's career are ever brought up.

An audio/youtube of either performance would be fantastic.

Someone has kindly made available a recording of Richard Hawley's gig at the Albert Hall on the Dimeadozen torrent site. This includes the performance of Happy New Year Baby that Eamonn meanted above.

Listening to it, I think it's a shame that it wasn't recorded. It's in the 'gentle pop song' style like several other songs Jarvis wrote around 1999-2000. The lyrics cover somewhat similar ground to My Mistake, only better.

I'll put an MP3 in the Bar Italia email account for those of you who don't want to download the whole thing.
