Great news. Is anyone going to one of these gigs. When NME reports something like this it normally means they know it's true for a fact.

A second solo album could be in the making by the sounds of it. Nice one Jarvis :)

Add Jarvis Cocker to MyNME
Jarvis Cocker played two new songs on Saturday (March 8) at the MX Beat Soundfest festival in Mexico City.

Sporting a light brown jacket, red sweater and black tie, Cocker played an energetic set, climbing the stage rigging during near set-closer 'Cunts Are Still Running The World'.

NME.COM user Ferni described one of Cockers untitled new songs as Incredible an electro-pop song with some great beats made for hitting the dancefloor.

Another NME.COM user, Jaime, described new song Girls Like It Too as amazing similar to the stuff in his first solo album.

Jarvis Cocker played:

'Fat Children'
'Don't Let Him Waste Your Time'
'One Man Show'
'Untitled new song'
'Girls Like It Too'
'Tonite'
'Big Julie'
'Big Stuff'
'Black Magic'
'Cunts Are Still Running The World'
'Hey John'

Check NME.COM soon for a Jarvis Cocker exclusive.

Here are some songs from the gig. Hopefully the unreleased ones will show up too.

Just an educated guess, but I reckon 'Hey John' is a typo and he actually finished with a cover of 'Hey Joe' - so it probably was two new songs.

If a new album is pending (in the next six months) I would have thought he'd play a couple of more new songs. If we do get a second solo LP I think it might be the tail end of the year or early 09 before we see it.

Blimey, it's been a few years since we saw him wearing a tie...I see it's disappeared by the second vid though!

Some extraordinarly bad singing along from the audience too.

Not necessarily. it was a gig long way from home. I suppose more will be played in England the closer we get to an album release.

Anyway, there probably wont be a new album until the summer / Fall
