I've got the 'Disco' version obviously and the live version of 'Town' but I was wondering if anybody has the proper version which I'm led to believe is available...
Is it still worth asking for a studio version of 'Cuckoo'?:(
i've uploaded it into the account. so enjoy! i always thought the death trilogy (well i like to think of them as a trilogy) should be on an album together.
does anyone know who is playing bass on this? is it mr havenhand? it's probably obvious and i should know this (sorry!)
thanks for your answer. it's nice to see that i got something right for a change. fantastic bass by the way. i love that song! if you don't mind all the questions, when was that recorded?
James:
i am so very sorry that i haven't been able to reply to you sooner. i've been so busy with work but yes, it's where LeoVK said, but i think i put it in the 2006 account:
Thanks for your comments about 'Death Comes To Town'. The song was recorded in 1987 & was intended for a single release on Fon Records along with the original version of 'Dont You Want Me Anymore' & a song called 'Rattlesnake'. all the best Steven
Thanks for that, Mr. Havenhand. I think I still prefer the "dirgey-ness" of the album version to this more up-tempo cut, but it's interesting to hear how one of my favorite songs evolved.
I think the "Death Comes To Town single" would have been one of Pulp's very best if it had ever been released.
Just digging round in there I found Sheffield Sex City (Instrumental) - where on earth did that come from???!
Was it officially released? - the ID tags say it's track three from Babies - why would they put it out as an instumental and then add lyrics for when it got put onto Intro???
The instrumental version of Sheffield: Sex City was on the CD version of Babies...along with the version with lyrics. Think I remember Jarvis saying it was so people could have sex to it without the sound of his voice being there or something...?
Argh! Can't get anything from the Yahoo account. It's really frustrating...especially as I really want to hear Steven's recording of Don't You Want Me Anymore!
Anyone out there who has managed to get it fancy sparing me a minute of their lives and sending it to me by email or something? My address is Leo_VK@ntlworld.com if anyone has nothing to do and fancies being charitable! :)
