Just around the corner from where I spent the first twelve years of my life. Apparently played a load of records he'd picked up at Charity Shops including Rolf Harris. Apparently a big influence on Adam & The Ants!
When someone shouted "Pulp!" he drawled: "Pulp? That old mother." Instead he indulged for the trashy, the flashy and the hopeless, explaining each choice before playing it. Who knew before this that Rolf Harris was a big influence on Adam and the Ants.
The madcap DJ set featured childrens songs such as Sweet Gingerbread Men, Rolf Harriss War Canoe (which Jarv explained Adam and the Ants plagiarised on Prince Charming), Led Zeppelins Trampled Underfoot and Paul Gasgoines Fog on the Tyne, all interspersed with his highly amusing, yet sometime incoherent ramblings.
Fittingly, he finished his 45 minute set with Kooks by David Bowie - the song, of course, that the headline act were named after.
