Didn't Nick Banks' new band support Jarvis in Sheffield recently enough?  Not quite the same but...

They did. Also, Mark Webber's band Seigfried's Magick Box supported Pulp a couple of times in the mid '80s, and even futher back in time Pulp played on the same bill as a band called Vector 7-7, which featured Wayne Furniss and David Hinkler. Sorry. I'll get me anorak.

And hello Steven!

Possibly '83? With Simon Hinkler, Peter Boam etc? If so there may be a photo of Jarvis and Saskia in my book from that gig...

Newcastle University... October 1995. The tickets went on sale about the time Common People came out and sold out really quickly. I also saw them at Newcastle arena in 1996 and numerous other times.

Bit down at the moment because I am writing an obituary of Tony Wilson for my magazine. I'm not sure what others on this forum made of him, but I really admire him for his work towards acheiving a cultural regeneration in Manchester and I've always wanted to interview him about that. I almost got my chance, just before he got ill and I'm gutted it never happened.

Mmm, I'm gutted by Tony Wilson's death, I was weaned on Factory records in the 80's, it's very sad indeed.

Which mag to you write for by the way? It's interesting to know what other Forum people get up to outside cyberspace.

Hi Steven. My mag's called New Start, the editorial's based in Sheffield though I'm based in the smoke. I write about regeneration and that kind of thing: www.newstartmag.co.uk

By the way, I like the little captions under people's avitars. Probably the one time in my life when I'll be sorted!

My first time was the same as Sturdy's - Leeds 1995. It was only a couple of weeks after Glastonbury and I was listening to my tape of that gig all the way up the motorway from Worcester.

Not a clue! Obviously Mr Cocker and I recall some young lady who I assume was Saskia(sp?). T'was me and Ogy not long after I moved to Sheffield.

Feel daft 'cause I ought to remember you more than I do, being in Lay Of The Land with Rob M.
I'm sure Rob shared our house in Machon Bank with me and Ogy for awhile...before Paul "Premonition Tapes" moved in.

Well with you and Manners around here now, it just might give me the impetus to finish mastering Pulps 1987(?) Leadmill gig. I still have the master tape which I digitised about 1 year back. Just not got round to doing yet...

Hi John.Probably was Saskia then.

I do remember that Rob moved in with Ogy for a while on Machon Bank whilst he was in LOTL.

I got on well with Rob, he was a good person to be around, When I heard he'd passed on it was unreal, I got a phone call from Rachell, Russell's sister & it didn't sink in 'cause I'd had no idea he'd been ill. It's tragic.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear The Leadmill recording, it's funny how these bootlegs keep on surfacing. I've got one from The Limit in 87 which Mark Sturdy kindly sent to me a couple of years ago. Talk about blast from the past.

Y'know, I reckon our paths must've crossed dozens of times in the drinkeries of Sheffield way back then...a shame we didn't have a chat back then, anyways there's always Bar italia.
