I can't remember anyone else on the vibrasound demo, just us four but it is 23 years ago.
I wondered if Tim might be on there somewhere, doing something - playing keyboards maybe? Or would that have been Jarvis?
The early EP's will always have a special place in my bones, I like the look of them and the sound...little girl is timeless!!
Agreed... do you have any opinion on why those records somehow have 'it' to a greater extent than Freaks? Same musicians, same gear, same studio, same sort of timeframe... you'd expect it to sound pretty similar really!

My personal memories of making Freaks are not that happy, and I guess maybe everyone involved was a bit distant, both musically and emotionally, I remember sitting in The Hallamshire with Magnus getting drunk when we should have been recording......I think that's a bad sign.
But the EP's were different, full of passion and energy but most importantly full of Solidarity that always shines through.
And getting back to vibrasound maybe Tim hit some stuff, I know he was around alot.
So what was happening by the time it got to Freaks then... was it kind of the beginning of the end by that point, bearing in mind you split up a few months later?
Don't know if you noticed in the book but Russell seems to have quite fond memories of recording Tunnel for some reason, do you remember anything about that at all?
Dug this out the other day by the way, thought you might appreciated it (might take a while to load as I've not resized it properly):
On a totally different topic, do you see much of Magnus these days? I ran into him a few times around the time the book came out, he always seemed on surprisingly sprightly form I thought....

Crikey!!!! What a picture, you can see why the album was called freaks.
I can't remember that much about recording tunnel, maybe I was drunk, I know we recorded it live and kirky played the drums and magnus played 5 or 6 oil drums, and then kirky was violently sick....I remember laughing at that.
The last time I saw Magnus was a couple of years ago, we camped in a church yard in London
