A couple of Pulp related items this week,

a preview of Bob Lind in Kilburn

They show why Pulp were moved to record a song called Bob Lind for their We Love Life album, why Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey included Linds Cool Summer on The Trip, their mix CD from last year and why Sheffields splendid country-rock crooner (and onetime Pulp guitarist) Richard Hawley has chosen to perform three songs with the man himself on Friday. This will be Linds first UK show since 1966; go along and pay the respect so criminally long overdue.

and a Jarvis interview

Encompassing veteran metallers Motörhead, music from Dumbo and more than a sprinkling of certifiable outsider artists, this years Meltdown promises to be the most bonkers yet. Time Out goes inside the head of curator Jarvis Cocker to find out what the hell he was thinking

After starring in seemingly every other Meltdown in history, Jarvis Cocker finally gets his shot at curating the multi-disciplinary arts festival at that other national cultural institution, the Southbank Centre this week. His choices for the line-up are as esoteric, extraordinary and downright fearless as you might expect, encompassing everything from Motörheads thrash-fuzz (followed by a northern soul disco) to a cabaret spectacular of Disney songs performed by an all-star line-up including Jarvis himself.
