Just had chance to get on here after seeing J. Cocker on Thursday.

Support band Pollinates pretty good, nice to see Nick onstage again (complete with traditional large picture of one of his kids on the drumkit). Music sort of late '80s indie with electronic bits and girly backing vocals, reminded me of someone but not quite sure who.

J. Cocker on fine form throughout, seemed surprisingly quite a lot more energetic and focused onstage than the last few years of Pulp. Lots of leaping and flailing, and looking miles better now he's sacked those nasty jumpers and started wearing jackets again. Very chatty too, lots of amusing stuff about Sheffield and the Brits and general rubbish that I probably couldn't do justice to here. In a way his bounciness between songs was almost at odds with the rather downtempo, contemplative nature of most of the songs themselves, but it didn't actually matter.

Musically much as you'd expect, lots of fine renditions of all the solo album songs plus One Man Show and Big Stuff (the latter of which sounded especially good). Encore: Being Boiled by The Human League!

On the whole then, probably one of the most enjoyable Jarv related concerts I've been to.
