Desperate Americans will finally have a chance to see Jarvis up close and personal, at least if this article is correct:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/buzzbands/2007/01/coachella_lineu.html

Coachella is not my thing, though. Too hot. Too many bands. "LA people". I'd rather see him play the Pitchfork Festival.

Another Coachella story with Jarvis in the lineup: http://tinyurl.com/38af57. Looks like Albarn will be playing there too. Uh-oh!! ;)

He must be planning a few more shows in North America.

Surely he won't be traveling 14 hours to LA just to do one mid-day set on the second stage. Jarvis must realize his American fans won't mesh well with the Rage Against the Machiners and the Red Hot Chili Peppers fans.

Oh, and then there is that ticket price: $250 for all three days or $85 per day. $45 a night to camp. $8 for a bottle of water. And then of course there is the travel costs...

Jarvis. Please. Stay awhile. Book some shows. I can help you. It's your first time on the west coast in 11 years. And your first time in the America in 9.

At the very least, he'll be playing some other U.S. summer festivals. All I ask is for an East Coast show that I can get to easily.

pulp was definately a festival band.  they prefered a shorter set, with one encore that convinces casual fans.  but jarvis isn't the type of album to thrive in these circumstances.   he's got to be thinking  of an american tour.  i'd fly to LA for a solo gig.  but i'd rather go somewhere else.  (LA really sucks.)

To play Devil's Advocate - Coachella is very well funded, much more so than any of the other US festivals, except maybe the Nu-Lollapalooza. And unlike Lollapalooza, Coachella has a stiffy for British bands. It's quite possible they're putting Jarvis and the band up in a posh hotel and flying him first class. Lastly, Coachella is in April. Come summer, Jarvis will have plenty more festival gigs to attend in Europe. If he's planning a North American tour, he'll have to get the album out very soon.

  Hello,

Oh thank goodness, so REASONABLY GOOD music for us Americans to bask our already sunburnt eyelids upon at Coachella, looks like I will have to sell some ugly family members and move out west for this!  I hope he hear some more unexpected covers, in lieu to the trend that Jarvis has been doing on his current tour.  I hope he breaks out the old "skeleton costume" and gives us a rolicking rendition of "Sexualized"!  Cheers!

   Sincerely,  JamiroFan2000

P.S. Could some nice fan give me direction to this BarItalia Yahoo account that, with password/nickname that yields rare Jarvis recording treasures that I have seen murmurs of in other topics.  Any help is much appreciated!

The solo album is out in North America on April 3rd. It's the inaugural album released through Rough Trade's new partnership with World's Fair Records Group. Just in time for Coachella... and perhaps a supporting tour???

If Island is ever going to bring those Deluxe Editions to the western hemisphere, they'd be wise to do it soon. (yeah, right)
