Damn! What a good song is this one!

The lyrics are class, Jarvis at his best. Somehow I can relate to several parts of the song, even though my life isn't in the bad state like Jarvis' was at the time. The song describes the feeling of playing a part all the time, which I exactly feel when I'm going out. Playing a part, not being myself.

I’m only trying to give you what you've come to expect
Just another song about single mothers and sex
Single mothers and sex
single mothers and sex
Just another song about single mothers and sex
Okay, you've heard it before - it's nothing special
but it's a living can't you see?
I'm a professional

Man, what a fine song. Lyriccally and musically wise.

It was one of my favourites for years & years, but I overplayed it & can't really listen to it any more...

It's always annoyed me that only Acrylic Afternoons is explicitly about single mothers AND sex, correct me if I'm wrong.

Certainly Little Girl w/Blue Eyes is about single mothers and sex.

The Babysitter sets the stage for an ugly divorce.

And Razzmatazz perhaps? "I saw ya, at the docta, waiting for a test". I suppose it is just as likely to be an STD test as a pregnacy test, but I've always thought a pregnacy was more tragic.

I'm glad my odd sense of humour isn't lost on everyone.
