I don't have any problem whatsoever with Jarvis doing two tracks that he wrote for Nancy Sinatra, though perhaps one would have been enough - after all I imagine he felt if David Bowie could put "Oh you pretty things" on Hunky Dory (originally written for and sung by the rather naff Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits!), while "All the young Dudes" was written for Mott the Hoople, that didn't stop him doing it live and almost putting it on Aladin Sane....mind you, that is an almost.
Seeing as Jarvis writes songs for other people as well, he was probably quite keen to remind us of this - it highlights the industry's respect for him as a perfromer AND a writer.
well, i think they're quality, and i never heard them before, so to me, they were new songs. sure its a bit weird to recycle these songs, but he said he felt he needed to record them the right way, and as musician, i understand that 100%.
