In my dreams, I was drowning my sorrows, but my sorrows they learned to swim
Waves of regrets, Waves of joy
I reached out to the one I tried to destroy
You, you said you'd wait
Until the end of the world
I really enjoyed watching this performance. Russell and Steve really seem to be getting into it rather just standing to the side like statues.... Though sometimes I think Russell Senior and Justine Frischmann are actually the same person (same hair, same make-up, sometimes even the same clothes!)
I was never really that fond of Pink Glove, not on the album version anyway - but the Peel version really is tremendous. I can even forgive the cringeworthiness of the "your friend called Heather" bit, because the rest of it is so fantastic. And this is a good performance too, it seems much more in keeping with the contemporary Peel version than the final cut of a year later.
I think it was from a programme called no stilletos, they did 59 lyndhurst grove, which is on hits and she's a lady which was really really good, i had it on video years ago, but my dad taped over it, i'm still not talking to him because of that

Some great TV back then that I lost/didn't record - MTV's 120 minutes, No Stilettos, Sean's Show, The Word, The White Room.
Every now and again I feel the urge to go through the piles of video tapes I have from back then (all sketchily labelled), and see if I have them. But as that would involve shutting myself away for weeks on end.....
In these days of the www, precious little isn't available somewhere or another. Maybe one day, someone will gather together all the other Pulp bits and pieces and make a DVD of it. That said, the Hits DVD is quite possibly the best DVD ever.

True, but think of how much material must have been omitted from Hits. A properly comprehensive DVD would be amazing, especially the earlier stuff. We don't really need ten versions of Common People live.

I probably have about 30 odd versions of Common People from the singles/b-sides/mixes/albums and bootlegs. There are even two on the Peel Sessions CD.
I haven't heard Common People Live since December 1995, when I last saw Pulp @ Brixton they didn't play it.
