Last night I witnessed Hal Willner's musical tribute to Leonard Cohen, featuring these performers:
Anjani, Antony, Laurie Anderson, Perla Batalla, Steven Bernstein, Rob Burger, Charlie Burnham, Nick Cave, Julie Christensen, Jarvis Cocker, David Coulter, Don Falzone, Gavin Friday, The Handsome Family, Robin Holcomb, Briggan Krauss, Maxim Moston, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Beth Orton, Lou Reed, Chris Spedding, Kate St John, Teddy Thompson, Kenny Wollesen.
I'm not too familiar with Cohen's work (yet), but it was a fantastic show, and the music was superb. Extra credit to Chris Spedding for just being great. Jarvis duetted with Beth Orton just before the interval ("You enjoying yourselves? We're gonna put a stop to that") and brought a much needed touch of humour to the proceedings. We also sang a song which may be called I Can't Forget and Chelsea Hotel No 2.

The movie (Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man) has amazing footage of Jarvis and Beth Orton performing "Death of a Ladies' Man." He definitely brings a bit more energy than most of the other performers. The CD has "I Can't Forget" and it's also quite good.
