Desperate Journalist just did a special version of The Fear tonight for the encore of their Sheffield show. It was absolutely phenomenal. Possibly even better than the original.
Definitely the best Pulp cover I've ever heard. Even better than Bon Bon Club's Love Is Blind. I don't think anyone was recording, so it may have to stay forever ephemeral.
Must have been a nice surprise for you! Decent version that you linked to but the vocals are a bit too mannered/posh for me. They've supported Suede a fair bit, haven't they?
I s0law Black Country New Road tonight and sadly they didn't cover Pulp but they did a great version of a Big Star song, one of Mark's favourite groups.
Interesting that the original album cover of TIH is kind of, ooh! Naked woman! Oh is she dead? and their take on it seems to be recreating the opening scene of Fleabag.

I saw them supporting Suede a few years back, they were great and I was aware of this cover around that time. It's definitely a great cover.
However, you are hereby blocked and reported for even daring to suggest that anything is better than the original version of "The Fear" (except for the Complete and Utter Breakdown Version which technically was the original). Only joking
