The other day, I was listening to a new band called Vincent's Last Summer. I thought that the inspiration for that name may have come from the Pulp song "David's Last Summer". Turns out it does and the singer apparently attempts to impersonate Jarvis on stage.
Additionally, the band that has been supporting Divine Comedy recently is called Studio Electrophonique which was the name of Ken Patten's home based studio where Pulp recorded in 1981. It's a bit of an oblique reference but they are from Sheffield so most likely know about Patten's studio.
Finally, there is a recent song called "Superman" by Louis Dunford that features the line "A different class of common people". This sounds too specific to be anything other than a Pulp reference.
