Pulp appeared on World Cafe today, they recorded versions of "Tina", "Grown Ups", "Seconds" and "Slow Jam" and there is an interview with Jarvis. I'm fairly certain that Jarvis appeared on this years ago.
Ah man, that was great. The most stripped-down we've heard these songs in a recorded way, nice to hear how good they can be with the strings toned down a little and no Elysians. The vocals were a little quiet though and Jarvis a bit late with the start of Tina and Seconds! Top choice of songs and the interviewer had great questions and some thoughtful Jarv answers. More please! (Tiny Desk video session?)
Love this session. Kind of takes me back to the Mark Radcliffe and Hit the North sessions - can't beat the buzz of a small band in a room together, flying by the seat of their pants and going straight to air, warts and all. This is hardcore!
