Great show. Its 5 songs / records and the artist talks about what it means to them. Hopefully I can provide a recording of this - you all give so much to me!
And finally some promotion from my side of the world!! And quite literally the same station Jarvis's Dad worked at.

ahhh well yes it might be announced tomorrow - - everyones saying Pulp + The Strokes + The Cure for Harvest Rocks which is this 2 day event in Adelaide... But thats like 3 headline bands for a 2 day festival... I did enquire with Mark a few days ago and he said if they are no ones told him about it. Like if Pulp were playing Australia he would know wouldnt he? Thats going to be 2 huge weeks. Because Oasis will be in the country and their hoo ha. Which we are going to see.

So that's on Oct 25th/26th? Mark has book talks in the UK on October 14th and and 3rd of November so I guess it's possible although if he said he doesn't know anything about it, that seems fairly clear!
Mind you they all said that about Glastonbury and I hope are now full of patchwork guilt. How could we ever trust them again?
Thanks Eamonn. Yes the book dates I thought I must look at the dates of Mark's book signings that he has coming up - thanks for cross checking! It still just floors me (still) that people can write on the internet in a public forum like its gospel. When I say Mark would know right? I am being a bit facetious. He knows all.
Fran - yes these are pre-recorded. Zan sometimes travels for it - looks like Z was in London about 5 weeks back. Noel Gallagher was one from last season and they did it in his studio for example. Not sure if Kevin Bacon has been here recently.... Its a mixture of Australian people and OS. I wonder what Jarvis will pick - serge, Scott, The Fall, ABBA, Testone, Dory Previn, Regulate, Nick Cave, The Saints...
Also dont get Zan mixed up with Zane Lowe. She is so much better!

Please Stay by The Cryin' Shames Dance This Mess Around by The B-52s mash up of Send In the Clowns sung by Judi Dench + Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Boys Town Gang - great story about his circus wedding and him and Kim meeting It's Raining Today by Scott Walker Isis by Bob Dylan
I think after its played on TV Zan has a podcast version that goes for an hour which you can find here https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/take-5 probably up on Tuesday or Wednesday

Excuse me, how to use the link, it shows 404 ^^"
Sorry - you'll need a client like uTorrent installed for that.
Saw this last night, some interesting revelations from Jarvis about love - namely he didn't tell anyone he loved them til he basically got married! How frustrating to be with a man who talks and sings about it in a real but often beautiful way...
Still, he seems happy and in love now. And the head-scratching "feet on the moss" lyric from Background Noise makes sense now. Kim looms large over the album. The guy's seriously mad about her. Who needs Tina anyway...
I watched it last night having already listened to the audio version, which is a lot longer. The whole thing is just adorable, must be my favourite interview I've ever watched, not for nuggets of information but the whole atmosphere of it, very relaxed and friendly, he looks so happy, which is a joy to see.

Zan is a great interviewer. Unlike many other interviewers where it becomes about how many superfluous words they can get in so they end up taking all the space with Zan's interviews it feels like you just watching 2 people have a chat.
